McLure Moving and Storage, which describes itself as a locally owned and operated company, says it has handled Vermonters' relocation and storage needs out of Essex Junction since 1915. A 2025 customer said McLure handled both a cross-country move to Vermont and a later move across town, called the movers polite and careful, and said the company let them come by to pick up boxes before the move. A 2022 customer recommended the company after a move from Colchester, Vermont to San Antonio, Texas for a father-in-law. A 2021 customer said they were on time and efficient, and fit everything into a storage unit the customer had worried was too small. A 2022 commenter in r/burlington said they had used McLure a few times in the past and recommended it. A 2025 reviewer picking up a trailer said there was a bit of miscommunication on arrival, but the pickup was very fast once it was sorted out. On r/burlington, a 2022 commenter who used Mclure Moving and Storage a few times recommended it, and a 2025 commenter said it was great. In an August 2026 thread, another commenter said that during their last move the company damaged a lot of things and its claims policy was so convoluted that it wasn't worth dealing with.
“Avoid McLure. During my last move, they damaged a lot of things, and their claims policy was so convoluted that it wasn't worth dealing with.”
“Mclure’s moving & storage in essex jct would never have done that to you”
“I used Mclure moving in Essex and they were great”
“Mclure Moving and Storage in Essex. Used them a few times in the past. Highly recommend.”
Great team and very professional delivery.
Im an O/O. There was a bit of miscommunication when I arrived but after everyone understood each other, pickup was very fast. 100% will never pickup a trailer from anywhere in this area. Took me 5 hours to go 80 miles trying to leave NY. I'll give them 5 stars because the trailer was actually loaded and ready to go but ill never pickup East of the Delaware again.
I used Mclure when my husband and I moved across the country to VT, and we used them again when we moved across town. Each time, Mclure was efficient, kind and compassionate, and handled each move with professionalism and care. Management is attentive and the movers are very polite and careful. I have been thoroughly impressed and happy with each interaction. Not to mention, they let you come by and pick up boxes to help before the move. The next time we move, we are calling Mclure without any hesitation! Thanks again, y’all! 10 stars across the board.
I LOVE THIS PLACE. They are amazing and so kind. I'm always late and they are completely understanding and I also the other day showed up late to pay my bill at 4:30 apparently they close at 4:00 but the guy was totally cool and help me anyway even though it took forever keep up the good work!
I would highly recommend this company. Did a move from Colchester Vermont to San Antonio Texas for my father in law
