MDF Painting & Power Washing, based in Greenwich, Connecticut, holds 4.9 stars from 867 ratings on Google, and its 2026 reviews are a steady stream of decks, siding and rooms — Juan's crew alone is named in seven of them. The company says it has been in business 31 years and lists a service area from Greenwich and Stamford to New Haven and Guilford. The work goes beyond paint. A September 2026 customer with dark cedar siding stained about 5 years earlier said MDF matched the color with a new stain even though the original product is no longer made, and replaced some broken cedar clapboards. Another September 2026 customer, who met the company at a local home show, had Jonathan the carpenter fix a carpentry issue before Juan and his crew painted, with furniture moved back at the end. A July 2026 review describes Jonathan and Mynor on the carpentry for a screened porch. Decks come up too: power washed and painted by Juan's crew in September 2026, and in September 2025 Jose Galdamez power washed, sanded and painted a very large deck. In a February 2024 review, Tom's crew patched and drywalled for days before painting. Brandon, who did walkthroughs and estimates, is named in five July and August 2026 reviews. In a July 2024 review, a customer who did not hire MDF said the quote came with an offer of $500 off for signing and paying a deposit that day, a deposit higher than any other painter's, and called it pressure. The Yale Daily News has reported eviction notices MDF sent to two migrant workers in a building co-owned by founder Mark DeFrancesco, one of whom has a pending workers' compensation complaint against the company; DeFrancesco disputes their claims. Its Connecticut HIC licence, HIC.0600605, is active on the state registry. BBB grades the business A+.
“Mark DeFrancesco, the founder of MDF and co-owner of the building where Becerra and Arana have been living since July — 200 Peck St. —— disputes their claims.”
“Edgar Becerra, a migrant worker from Guatemala, will remain at 200 Peck St. as he awaits his pending workers’ compensation complaint against his employer MDF Painting & Power Washing.”
“MDF Painting & Power Washing sent Edgar Becerra and Josue Mauricio Arana their second eviction notices on Feb. 11.”
Juan and the crew did a great job really happy with the work
Thank you so much to Juan and his crew for power washing and painting my deck! It looks great! He and his team were very kind and communicative!
I just had a great experience with Jeffrey and MDF Painting. Jeffrey was professional, friendly, and easy to work with. He took the time to listen to my concerns, carefully measured the deck, and provided a very reasonable quote. He made the process easy and straightforward enough that I felt confident moving forward with MDF Painting on the spot. I highly recommend Jeffrey to evaluate any of your painting projects!
MDF just completed painting my place. Over the years, I handled this type of stuff myself but this time I had some issues I knew I could not handle myself. Minor carpentry, leaks on ceilings, wall imperfections. I wanted someone who could handle all this and give it a picture perfect look. I talked to many contractors at the local home show but when I stopped at MDF table and told them about my carpentry issue, they said that yes, they could handle it. They said that they could also paint my place. I had a good feeling about this business and boy, was I right. When Gina came in to price the project, she patiently answered many, many, many of my questions. She later returned with Jonathan the Carpenter who was able to fix my issue exactly as I wanted. Then time came for Juan the Painter and his crew. His tricks of the trade resolved all the issues. Juan’s and his crew’s attention to detail is exactly what I was hoping for. This project took a couple of days. They made sure there is no mess left overnight and once the project was completed everything was cleaned up and all furniture moved back to its place. When I need another painting project in the future, I will call MDF first and ask that Juan is the one (😃) who works on it.
Juan was excellent doing all the work—-power washing and painting excellent results!! He and his team were very polite and explained everything! I would never hesitate to recommend their services to anyone!! Deserve an A plus!!! Thank you!!
