Messier House Moving & Construction moves whole buildings. The East Montpelier company describes itself on its website as a family-owned business with a history of moving and supporting structures throughout Vermont and New Hampshire, and says that over the past 35 years it has done projects for numerous contractors, hundreds of private citizens, the University of Vermont and Dartmouth College. Its work has turned up in Vermont news coverage, including vermontbiz.com, the Burlington Free Press and Seven Days. In a January 2022 Reddit thread on r/vermont, one commenter pointed to the company lifting the New Haven train depot and moving it across farm fields as a reason to think it would do a good job on another move. Vermont's registry shows the company's contractor registration, 174.0000763, as active. Its website lists free estimates and says it is insured. On Google it has a single 5-star rating.

“Over three days, the contractor, East Montpelier's Messier House Moving & Construction, hauled the brick structure across the mile and a half of fields intervening between the junction and New Haven village, culminating in its arrival at the municipal building, on North Street, Thursday afternoon.”
