Lackey Land Works gets called when water is going where it shouldn't. In an April 2025 Google review, a customer with a cracked footing drain says the crew responded promptly to the SOS, found the problem and planned the fix, and while the excavation was open, built a temporary fence so the dog could still use the yard. A May 2025 Google reviewer describes Eric clearing out a wet, dirty basement, installing pipes and laying stone under plastic so that, in the customer's words, there is no longer any water in the entire basement. The company describes itself as a full-service excavation contractor, from drainage problems to complete landscape redevelopment, and says it has been in business five years and offers free estimates. It carries 5.0 stars from 24 ratings on HomeAdvisor and on Angi, and 5 stars from 6 ratings on Google. In an August 2023 review, Eric's crew excavated a trench through a difficult, rocky area, installed electrical conduit and removed a section of concrete pad for a renovation project. A July 2024 customer had a retaining wall replaced and the fence reinstalled, and a May 2024 customer had a large trailer and work shed demolished and hauled off, with the crew returning after the containers were picked up to clean the area. A May 2025 Google reviewer says the crew essentially rebuilt their yard: clearing brush, adding landscaping, drainage and berms, and rebuilding the driveway, on time and at fair prices. Another May 2025 reviewer had a dirt road worked on, and a June 2025 customer got a quick delivery on short notice that saved a weekend of work. Earlier work includes the removal of 5 large oak trees near a house and property-line fence in a June 2023 review, and a driveway plowed within a couple of hours in March 2023. A September 2024 HomeAdvisor reviewer says the crew worked 10 days straight, 10 to 12 hours a day, on time and on budget. In the June 2023 tree job, the customer realized two more trees should have been flagged and the company offered a fair adjustment to the cost. An August 2023 reviewer who hired Eric for basement waterproofing says he ran into a myriad of other problems and handled them, at a fair price. A July 2025 Google reviewer says the team sticks to its estimate and schedule and keeps the site clean. Its Vermont residential contractor registration, 174.0001129, is active under Lackey Land Works.

Lackey Land Works was great to work with and did a fantastic job on our dirt road. Would definitely recommend Eric and team!
Lackey Land Works responded promptly to my SOS, found the problem and proceeded to make a plan to fix my cracked footing drain. While excavation was happening he constructed a temporary fence for my dog to allow him access to the yard. I appreciated that so much! I highly recommended and would call on again!
My basement was very wet and dirty. Eric took everything out: water cables, and much more. Then he installed pipes so we no longer have any water in the entire basement. Everything drains well, even to our pump. He brought in stones, put plastic over them, and closed everything. He worked hard in my basement, and you can't stand there. I felt sorry for him. And yet, he did a very, very good job. I highly recommend Eric. Keep up the good work, Eric. You're the BEST. Feedback People also search for
