Michael MacDougall Electrician is an electrical business based in Mansfield, MA. Its HomeAdvisor profile says electrical work has been in the family for generations, from a great-grandfather to many uncles, cousins and brothers. A 2026 review calls Mike very professional and reliable, and says he gives a fair price. In a 2021 review, Mike replaced the ballast for a kitchen light and tested another light that was flickering; the issue was the fixture, and rather than coming back, he explained how to install the new one. In 2020, he was quick to provide an estimate, texted the day before an installation to confirm his arrival time, cleaned up as though he was never here, and charged exactly what he quoted. A 2017 review lists about 15 electrical projects around one property, inside and outside: wiring new fixtures, installing new recessed lighting, repairing and installing new bathroom fans, new electrical outlets and outdoor lighting. When shipping delays held up some of the fixtures, he came back at no charge to install them when they arrived. Also in 2017, after the power was cut off, Michael answered his cell phone at midnight, was there at 6:00 AM the next day, and got the power hooked back up that day. In a 2018 review, Mike made an initial assessment and a recommendation that saved a large future expense, and updating the electrical service was added to the project. Another 2018 review, written a year into renovating a big old house, says he scheduled the bigger chunks of work as well as smaller one-off issues, and that the work passes inspection. On a 2018 job he came back a second day to wrap up the work, and the areas where work was done were not entirely cleaned up.

Great guy, great rates, great service!!
Mike was great! Did the work quickly and everything looks fantastic. He is very responsive. Will definitely hire him again!
It went great, he was lovely, had great suggestions and was prompt on the job. Would definitely hire again
Mike was great to work with. He had a busy schedule but was still able to fit us in within the time he said he would. Communication was excellent before the visit, so I was able to have everything ready for him to save time. He replaced the ballast for our kitchen light and also tested another light that was flickering. The issue with the flickering light was the fixture and he told me that it would need to be replaced. Rather than him coming back after I bought a new fixture, he recommended I install it myself and explained how to do this. The installation worked without any issues and the light is working again. Definitely an overall great experience at a very reasonable price.
