One recent customer of Modern Concepts had a master-bath tub and shower replaced with a walk-in shower, a built-in teak chair and safety handles, along with new tile in the foyer, hall, kitchen floor and laundry room. That customer said Will and Justin did most of the work and that a patterned half-bath floor was matched to the surrounding tile. The company's website lists a service area running from Cranston and Providence to Warwick and East Greenwich, and says it has been in business 30 years. A recent Google reviewer had a kitchen refresh with new counter tops, backsplash and lighting, plus a full bathroom gut, and said the project was on budget and completed on time, with the work area organized and cleaned at the end of each day. A recent customer said a bathroom remodel was clearly laid out from start to finish and the work area was left clean after work every day. A recent customer said Michael and his team built a fence for their yard and called it affordable. A 2023 Houzz customer said Mike built new back stairs from scratch. A 2023 customer said the company worked with them to redesign their bathroom. A recent customer was unhappy with a basement project, saying the lighting still feels inadequate, the plan was not explained clearly and the crew's schedule was unreliable. A 2025 Houzz customer described a very poor experience with a kitchen reface and full bathroom remodel quoted at $85k. That 2025 customer said Mike asked to be paid earlier than the contract called for, rushed the bathroom floor and shower tiling, leaving a very uneven floor and missing grout, and then quit, saying he would not be back unless they paid an extra $13k up front.
Hired Mike and the gang for a bathroom remodel and my goodness, did this beautiful company show up!!! Everything was clearly laid out from start to finish, left the work area clean after work everyday, super friendly workers that paid attention to detail and were very respectful! I’d recommend Mike’s team all day.
I’ve known Michael for a long time and he has always been a reliable, responsible, ambitious, and determined individual. I had him and his team build a fence for my yard and it came out absolutely beautiful, and was very much affordable. The professionalism shown, along with the expert knowledge displayed made it an easy decision to choose Modern Concepts. I will continue to give them my business and I would highly recommend anyone else to as well!
We asked Modern Concept to make our basement more usable, but the finished space has been disappointing. The lighting still feels inadequate, and the walls and overall finish do not create the flexible exercise and family area we envisioned. The plan was not explained clearly, the crew’s schedule was unreliable, and we often did not know who would be working at our house. The basement has not added the everyday value we expected.
We worked with Modern Concepts on a kitchen refresh – new counter tops, backsplash and lighting, and a full bathroom gut and are thrilled with the final results. Working with Mike from the initial meeting, reviewing product selections to the final walk through was great. Mike understood the direction we wanted to go and kept us informed of progress during the project. Any questions we had were addressed and any delays were communicated in a timely manner. The team doing the work were considerate, punctual and communicated what was done each day and what would be going on the next day. Any questions we had were answered and if issues came up solutions were always offered. The work area was always organized and cleaned at the end of each day. The project was on budget and completed on time. This is a company that I would highly recommend. Overall, a great experience!!
My husband and I wanted to redo our kitchen and also hoped to have our master bath redone. We sat down with Mike and went over all the renovations we were interested in having done and still be within our budget. We were able to have our foyer, hall, kitchen floor, and laundryroom tile replaced. We also had a tiled backsplash done in the kitchen. Our small 1/2 bathroom floor was tiled. In addition, our masterbath tub/shower was replaced with a walkin shower, built in teak chair, and safety handles for when we need it. That's the business part. Will and Justin did the majority of the work and it was a pleasure having them in my house. Mike, Will, Justin and John are professional, you can count on them, they are polite, friendly and kind. I felt very safe around all of them. The work they did on the tiled floors was amazing. They know what they are doing and are very skilled. The small 1/2 bath floor needed extra thought as it is patterned. It also came out beautiful. They did a great job matching the tiles and the floor looks so good in contrast with the other tile. And then there is the Master bath. All I can say is thank you, thank you, thank you. I love the new master bath. The tilework was amazing It makes me so happy. The waterfall tilework in the middle of the shower is so nice. I wanted a built in seat and I voiced my concerns that it needed to be sturdy and not fall off the wall. The fold up teak chair is so well installed it was exactly what I wanted. They also removed the wire shelving in my masterbath closet and replaced them with wooden shelves, just like I wanted. Thank you Mike, Will, Justin and John. I recommend them highly and hope to be able to do more projects with them in the future. They are like family!
