Modern Wood Design

Modern Wood Design describes itself as a high-end finish carpentry outfit — cabinetry, custom trim, furniture assembly — based in Quincy and reaching into Weymouth, with a crew of 12 and five years in business. The three reviews on Thumbtack, from late 2023 and early 2024, are short but unanimous: a February 2024 review said the crew delivers everything that is in the contract and a little more, and the other two are brief five-star notes without much detail on the actual work performed. Thumbtack also lists the company under general contracting, kitchen and bathroom remodeling, window and door work, and painting, alongside its stated finish-carpentry specialty — a broad menu, though nothing in the reviews describes any one of those jobs specifically. There isn't much written history to go on yet: three reviews and a Thumbtack background check are what's public so far. Ask to see photos of a recent finish-carpentry job before booking, since the reviews themselves don't describe one.
