Mosquito Squad of Newton

Mosquito Squad of Newton is a locally run franchise of the national Mosquito Squad brand, based in Auburndale and serving Newton and nearby Greater Boston communities with seasonal mosquito, tick, and yard pest control — barrier-spray treatments, a natural essential-oil option, and one-time sprays for outdoor events. Customers consistently describe fast turnaround: several say a request was answered and a technician, including one named Keith, had service scheduled the same day. The treatments themselves get specific, repeated praise for actually reducing mosquito and tick pressure — homeowners report reclaiming yards near marshes and wooded lots where mosquitoes had made outdoor time miserable, and a few describe ant and wasp problems clearing up alongside the mosquito work. Several reviewers also call the pricing reasonable or competitive. In a 2025 review, one homeowner raised a different kind of concern — that after several neighbors started using the service, butterflies, bees, and ladybugs became noticeably scarcer nearby, a reminder that broad-spectrum mosquito treatments can affect other insects along with the pests they target. The review record here is unusually consistent and recent — worth asking which treatment option, the traditional barrier spray or the essential-oil formula, best balances effectiveness against that broader pest-and-pollinator tradeoff for your yard.
