Mosquito Squad of Newton runs out of Auburndale as the local franchise of the national Mosquito Squad brand, which says it invented the outdoor mosquito barrier treatment back in 2005 and has treated more than 300,000 backyards under that name; like every Mosquito Squad office, this one is independently owned and operated rather than run directly by the parent company. On Google, it holds a 4.9-star average across 30 ratings, and the story in the written reviews barely varies: a backyard that was unusable because mosquitoes swarmed anyone who stepped outside turns into a yard people actually sit in not long after the first treatment. One homeowner living near marshland says they tried several advertised pest-control outfits before switching and calls it the fix that finally worked; another had the crew clear out an ant problem and wasps along with the mosquitoes they originally called about. A technician named Keith comes up by name more than once, credited with answering a Sunday email the same day and getting a visit scheduled right away. The one dissenting note worth reading past the five-star average: a review says that once several households nearby started using Mosquito Squad's spray, the bees, butterflies, and ladybugs in the neighborhood thinned out, and argues that trade-off is worth weighing before booking a treatment. It's a fair thing to ask the technician about directly — what's in the barrier spray and whether a reduced-impact option exists for a yard near gardens or wooded edges. Worth noting too: every review here comes through Google, with no BBB, Best Pick, or Angi profile turned up for this location, so there's no second directory to check the rating against. For eastern Massachusetts homeowners who want their yard back from mosquitoes without much back-and-forth, the pattern is a company that answers quickly, shows up, and treats — worth booking, with the ecological question worth raising before the first spray.

Before hiring the Mosquito squad, the mosquitoes was so bad in my backyard they would swarm I would get bitten. They were all over the dog and since I've been using them It's been a pleasure to actually go out in the backyard

Mosquito squad gets the job done. Easy to deal with and efficient. There will be no disease carrying mosquitos in your yard this summer.

I live next to marshes and the mosquitos made life so uncomfortable. I tried every pest control advertised who claimed to be the best. I gave up until a coworker suggested Mosquito Squad. I have reclaimed my backyard and can finally enjoy being outside. Best decision I made

Keith is really wonderful and so responsive. I had an ant problem and I emailed about it on a Sunday and I received a response about it the same day and service was scheduled immediately. The treatments for flys and mosquitoes definitely made a large impact and I can’t recommend them enough!
