One name does most of the work in NEC Electric & Solar's reviews: Ed. He runs through accounts from 2021 into 2025 — walking an October 2021 homeowner through dimmer-and-bulb compatibility with home safety as the framing, talking a December 2024 customer out of add-ons they didn't need, and tracing a house-wiring fault in March 2025 until he found and corrected it. For a Needham shop working mostly on older homes, that continuity is the most useful thing about them. The biggest job anyone describes is recent. In March 2026 a couple who had bought a 125-year-old house — knob-and-tube wiring and gas lines still in the walls — laid out the scope: strip all the old wiring, raise the house's electrical capacity, move from wall-mounted to ceiling lighting through most rooms, and relocate a panel sitting somewhere the code doesn't allow. Newer work skews smaller and quicker. A July 2026 customer called about an EV charger, got a quote fast and had it installed the following week; a March 2021 homeowner had driveway lights put in and left with a quote for the next project. Pricing is where the accounts diverge, and it's worth settling before you commit. Two customers wrote in June 2026. One said the quote was timely, the price reasonable, and the installation neat from estimate through finish. The other, while praising the work quality and the scheduling, said their price had been built around a very labor-intensive process, and that they had asked about using technology to cut that labor. The platform numbers diverge too: Best Pick Reports puts them at 4.9 across 203 ratings, while Angi and HomeAdvisor both show 4.4 across 75. Call them for the older-house electrical work the reviews keep describing — rewires, capacity upgrades, panel relocations, lighting. Get the quote in writing with the method it assumes spelled out, and ask what happens to the number if the job runs faster than the estimate assumed.
We called NEC for an Electric Car charger installation, they came and gave us a quote very quickly and installed the week after!! Kyle and Tom installed our charger and it went perfectly!! They were very professional, careful/clean and friendly!! Everything looks perfect and works well!! I would recommend this company if you need any electrical work!!
It was a pleasant experience from price quote to final installation. Keith arrived on time to look at the scope of work, then provided a timely quotation and reasonable price. The installation was neat, clean and professional. I wound not hesitate to call them again for any electrical work I need.
Great quality work ! Excellent scheduling. The only thing I’m not happy about and I love to speak to the owner, Is that when we were quoted a price it was based on a very labor intensive process. I had asked about the option of utilization of technologies in order to reduce the labor intensive part of the process, The sales agent told me that wasn’t possible, and I have this in writing. The price we paid is based on more labor than what was actually provided because tech technologies were actually used. We asked for a price reduction and it would not be honored. This to me appears to be a deceptive practice and it does not leave a great taste in the customer’s Mouth at the end of the day. I would love to speak to the owner of the company about this because I do believe we were significantly over Charged for what we got. Even if we were offered a four to $500 discount that would’ve been more than enough to cover a Fair arrangement.
We bought a 125-year-old house that still had knob and tube electrical and gas lines in the walls. The house needed significant work to upgrade to code, to remove all the knob and tube wiring, to increase the capacity of the house, and to move from wall-mounted lighting to ceiling lighting in most of the rooms. The old electrical panel was also in a place that was not up to code so the entire electrical supply box needed to be moved and upgraded. Chris, Hollis, and the team did a phenomenal job of rewiring the house and upgrading every room from the placement of the new plugs and switches to the quality of the work in installing new fixtures. New wires were bundled cleanly and nicely in the basement, the fuse box was well labeled. The communications from NEC team were fantastic and we highly recommend them.
