I originally provided 5 stars for the work Derek team did but a few things following I need to change it. They originally installed a patio for us and it fit within our time frame. We had it installed mid March of 2024. By June we noticed a lot of issues with the patio. Couple pavers were unlevel, missed areas of sanding plus other areas over sanded. The missed areas caused Ants to burrow up as well as caused grass to already grow throw the cracks. Also, I uncovered a irrigation pipe that was hit during installation but due to it being done in towards the end of our winter I had no idea until I turned on my sprinklers for the Spring in April. I had to hire someone else to come fix because according to Derek "we were too far to fix and he had to charge us" they don't take responsibility it hitting irrigation lines. He said it must of been very deep. But if he came to the site (he didn't come once he sent someone) he would of seen the area that was hit was not dug very deep at all. I made the assumption Derek and his team knew what they were doing. So I didn't question anything they did, that is on me and I learned my lesson. While I see on his Facebook he does do good work for other people the excuse of we are too far did not bode well. Part of taking a job is having ownership in the work you do and if things arise from your work you need to make it right. He says we wants us to be happy but when we reach out to make right it doesn't actually happen. Case in point when I needed more sand to fix the areas his team missed, he said he would give me some but when it came to collect on that promise, he "ran out". Take that how you will. I am not a paver expert and we recently had out patio sealed by another company and they were the ones who really pointed out the flaws in the patio. We will see how a year goes but based on things happening within 3 months. I don't really have high hopes. I am already expecting to hire someone to fix all the issues that might come about after our first winter with the patio.
Regrettably, I cannot endorse Derek, the owner of New Era Landscaping, for any project, and here's why: In June of 2023, Derek came out and promptly provided a quote. He was hired and was punctual for the job of pouring four footings for a pavilion that we were having installed by another company. Things looked promising, however the positivity ended there (hence only 1 star). In good faith, Derek had been paid in full the same day his guys completed the footings. A few weeks later, the pavilion installers arrived, but it quickly became evident that the footings were not only misplaced according to the specifications, but they also lacked squareness. The pavilion installers had to pack up and leave, as the footings were not usable. Despite numerous communications with Derek via calls and texts over the next two months, Derek failed to even come look at it for two months, citing a "tight schedule", despite his proximity to my location. When Derek finally made an appearance, he denied any fault regarding the footing placement, blaming discrepancies on a supposedly incorrect spec sheet and/or miscommunication about the pavilion's dimensions. The reality remained that the footings were in the wrong location (and not even square). The only remedy for this mistake was to repour footings in the correct location and this was requested to Derek as a solution. Ultimately, Derek refused to take responsibility or do anything to rectify the situation, leaving me and my family without the use of our patio and pavilion throughout the summer. Subsequently, I had to incur additional expenses by hiring another contractor to redo three of the 4 footings in the fall. While I understand that mistakes do happen, Derek's dismissive attitude and lack of accountability were deeply disappointing and unacceptable. While others' experiences may differ, this was mine, and this is my review.
Fantastic! They did my fall clean up and I was very happy with how my yard looked. I was impressed with their equipment. They didn't show up with just a truck and trailer. They showed up with heavy duty equipment for fall cleanup. With their equipment, they were able to do the work in my yard very fast and the results were fantastic. They were very reasonably priced and the staff was very nice. I will definitely use them again and highly recommend them.
Derek, owner of this company, I never fulfill what they agreed upon, his service was very bad, I spent around 25k, on the patio, which is all loose, grass that I spent another 3k to sow, driveway was not acceptable, I don't recommend it to anyone , don't trust this guy.
New Era Landscaping is an exceptional landscaping company, highly recommend, great quality work and very attentive.
