A recent customer hired Josh of Newton Electric to update their electrical panel wiring and put in a new sub panel and outlet in the basement, and said he finished in under two days. When power had to be cut, he brought a generator so they could hook up their router and keep working from home. That customer called the pricing honest and fair. A 2024 customer who said they had used Newton Electric for five or six projects described Josh as the owner and primary electrician. That 2024 customer said he and his help wear contractor shoe covers and leave the work area as if they were never there, and called it a family owned business. A 2022 customer said Newton Electric was booked up for months but came out for their emergency situation. A 2024 reviewer wrote that they use the company for everything electric at their facility. In a July 2021 r/vermont thread, a poster linking to Newton Electric's website said they highly recommend him to anyone near the Milton area. Vermont lists an electrician licence, EM-07264, as active, held by Joshua N Newton.
“If you're anywhere near the Milton area, I [highly recommend him](https://www.newton-electric.com/).”
We hired Josh to update our electrical panel wiring and put in a new sub panel and outlet in our basement. He was able to come begin the work sooner than expected, and finished in under two days. He was respectful in our home and communicated with us throughout the project on how things were going. When power had to be cut for a period of time, he brought a generator to allow us to hook up our router to ensure that I could continue to work from home uninterrupted. The completed work was done professionally and we are very happy with the results and the honest and fair pricing. Thank you Josh, we will be happy to recommend your business to family and friends and would choose to work with you again if we have future electrical needs!
We utilize Newton's electric for everything electric at our facility. Quick response time and very flexible. Highly recommend.
Some quick background on me for context; I am disabled and used to be proficient in the trades. I've repeatedly used Newton Electric to do any work on our home. Josh, the owner and primary electrician, is the best contractor I've ever had the pleasure of doing business with. He is EXTREMELY punctual. He always makes the time of his appointments within a minute or two of schedule. He and his help are super professional. They respect your home, property, and space. They even wear contractor shoe covers (like you see with the cable technicians, for the uninitiated). They safeguard (prep), if needed, and leave the work area as if they were never there. He is pet friendly. Josh is an animal lover himself and not bothered with them being around. My pets are pretty laid back but are curious from afar. He acknowledged them playfully and worked unbothered by them. This doesn't mean I recommend to keep frantic and/or excited animals around. Simply, he is not bothered by their presence, when other contractors can be. He seriously has the best prices. Ways to pay are a plenty. He has great options on how to pay. His work is high quality and he pays close attention to detail. I can be really critical of other's work. He puts the same level of attention into his tasks that I would and that really impressed me. He works hard and with a sense of urgency. Once he gets going, he has laser focus. He will figure it out, fix it, install it... whatever. He gets it done and in a fairly quick amount of time. Things I've expected to take a day or longer get finished in less than. He's taken on more projects while here! This was a big one for me. If he can squeeze something in, he will as long as is doesn't affect the quality of his work and/or make him late. Who can blame him!? But its seldom he hasn't taken on more work for me! I saved the best for last... his demeanor is amazing. He is such a wonderful human being. The guy is rather soft spoken, kind, and easy going. My wife and I think he and his help are lovely, genuinely down to earth people. Its gotten to the point that I've used him for things outside of his scope of work. He is an electrician, I've asked him to help out in areas I would normally use a handyman. I honestly trust him. There are very few folks that I do, and he managed to earn mine. If its telling of how good he is, I rarely write reviews. This is the fifth or sixth project I've used Josh for and felt compelled to share my experiences. I plan to use Newton Electric until my dying day. Considering its a family owned business and the next generation are already "in the trenches" (the help I keep mentioning!), His business will certainly out live me, and I am happy for him it will!
Incredible professionalism and service. Would highly recommend based on my interaction with them.
The work done was great, I’d definitely have Newton Electric again for future work!
