North Shore Enhancement

North Shore Enhancement is a Saugus-based landscaping outfit run by Katrina Eddy, and its written record is short and pointed: one customer account on file, and it is a 0.5-star description of a job that never happened. The company calls itself a woman-owned small business and lists a National Association of Landscaping Professionals membership on HomeAdvisor, where its service list runs from lawn cutting and sod through hardscape maintenance, stonework and pruning. In a 2022 Boston Business Women interview, Eddy described earning her stripes as "one of the well-known women in my area, and one of the top landscapers in general" — her own framing, not an outside assessment. Set against that is the single review. In July 2023 a homeowner wrote that after nearly two years as clients they paid a sizable deposit for a planting project, watched the start date pass, got repeated excuses and then silence, and were still being billed for lawn cuts after telling the crew they were done. They said they were pursuing legal options to get the deposit back. One review is one review, and this one is three years old — but it is specific, it is about money and unfinished work, and nothing else on file answers it. Massachusetts does not require home improvement contractor registration for landscaping-only work, so there is no license question here either way. That leaves a thin file with one serious, unanswered complaint. If you are considering them for planting or hardscape work, settle the terms in writing first: a dated scope, a modest deposit rather than a large one, and references from jobs actually finished in the past year.
