Sam is the name in almost every review. NorthShire Landscaping & Irrigation has been working Greater Nashua since 2006 — 20 years, by its own count and the BBB's — and what reviewers describe again and again is the owner picking up, coming out to measure, and then a crew arriving with the equipment to finish it. Two lines of work run through the written history. One is irrigation: a 2024 customer described five new zones added to three the company had installed five years earlier, dug through rocks and roots for what they called a reasonable price. Another that year said the system went in efficiently and the crew walked them through every feature. One reviewer, writing in 2024, credited a backflow-preventer and irrigation fix four years earlier that had given no trouble since, and summed up the working relationship as "one text away". The other is hardscape and planting. Across 2024 reviews: a patio that reworked a backyard, a driveway retaining wall with granite steps and cap lighting, a full property with retaining walls, a large patio, bluestone walkway, sod and plantings, and a hedgerow of Ivory Halo dogwoods with a Rose of Sharon. Pricing comes up as a plus more than once — a 2024 irrigation customer said the quote beat the others they collected and the lawn was left with no mess. In September 2025 a longtime customer wrote about years of what they called meticulous, punctual yard care. What to weigh against that: an Angi reviewer in September 2020 described a job that went badly — after a professional experience the previous year with a backflow-preventer problem, they hired Sam again for landscaping and another sprinkler zone, and said the two helpers were left unsupervised. It is the one negative account on file and it is nearly six years old, but it is about crew oversight on exactly the kind of job the company sells most. Worth noting too that Google averages 4.3 across 26 ratings, a step below the five-star written reviews there. The company is BBB-accredited with an A+ grade, and Houzz lists it as fully insured, serving Nashua, Brookline and Dracut. Its own site claims ICPI and NCMA hardscape certifications, SIMA membership and Green SnowPro — worth asking to see, since those come from the company rather than a registry. New Hampshire does not license landscaping contractors, so there is no state registration to check. A solid call for irrigation and hardscape in the Nashua area, especially if you want the owner involved. Ask who supervises the crew day to day and get the scope and price in writing before the machines arrive.
