Northwoods Spray Foam Insulation describes itself on its website as a spray foam insulation contractor based out of Lincoln NH. It holds a 4.5-star average from 17 Google ratings. A 2025 customer with an older home on ledge and a stone foundation said Spencer quoted new plastic over the ledge, removal of the fiberglass insulation and spray foaming the stone foundation. In a later update, that 2025 customer wrote that the house was substantially less drafty and needed far less heat. A 2024 customer said Spencer and his crew insulated their 100 year old cottage and left the place very clean. A 2023 customer said that since he insulated their crawl space there were no more frozen pipes, not even at -25 F. A 2023 customer said the owner told them he had no time to do the work. A 2023 reviewer said that after a rough estimate from Spencer, they called twice, left a voicemail and sent a text, and he would not take their calls.
We live in an older home built on ledge and a stone foundation. The previous owner's solution to insulation was fiberglass between the joists, which provided little insulation to the cold coming from the ground into the stone and concrete walls. Spencer gave me a quote for new plastic over the ledge, removal of the fiberglass insulation, and spray foaming the stone foundation. Their work was so well done, and I know we will see a reduction in our fuel usage. It also makes the space brighter, easier to keep clean, and far less claustrophobic. I had swept and vacuumed the utility concrete portion, and expected it to need another cleaning after their work; no, it was all vacuumed when done! Spencer, Nicole, and crew were easy to work with, and extremely professional. You will not be disappointed! Terry So here's an update after an unusually early cold 2025 winter. The house is now substantially less drafty, and far less heat needed; despite the cold temps outside. It's night and day better inside temps, and far less fuel consumption to keep the house comfortable. The boiler is not cycling on and off, and I can walk around with a T-shirt; vs. a sweater; despite the cold outside temps. I cannot believe the improvement, and comfort from having the basement walls spray foamed! Over just a few years, it will pay for itself, and better yet is the improved comfort level! Owner said "Keep me posted", so I did. Then the owner said he had no time to do the work. Nice guy, but poor business. Especially when your building for a customer and its getting cold, and all spray foam insulators are booked
