Novo Design & Build LLC is a Lincoln, Rhode Island kitchen-and-bath cabinetry design-build studio founded by Paulo P. Pereira, working by appointment from a Smithfield Avenue showroom. Many of its detailed Houzz reviews were written when the business operated under an earlier name, Designs for Living (DFL), before the Novo rebrand. Across a dozen five-star Houzz reviews dated 2019 through 2023, homeowners describe full kitchen and bathroom renovations rather than one-off installs. A 2020 review recounts a complete bathroom renovation finished on time and on budget in six weeks, and a 2022 review credits Paulo, Tricia and the Designs for Living team, working alongside Vin Gadoury Construction and Becker Cloutman Home, with a full kitchen renovation. A 2021 kitchen-cabinetry project drew praise in a review posted in November 2022, and a January 2023 review called a finished master bathroom "beautiful and much more functional." A 2019 review of a two-bathroom remodel noted the crew showed up every day without missing one. On Houzz, the profile carries a 5.0-star average across 47 ratings, 25 shown projects — including work in Dover and Medfield, Massachusetts — and a Best of Houzz 2023 award, with a service area spanning northern Rhode Island and Massachusetts towns from Attleboro to Newton. BuildZoom lists a Massachusetts Home Improvement Contractor license, #204600, and a Rhode Island Residential Contractor license, #GC-44437, for the business. The Better Business Bureau opened its file for Novo Design Build LLC in April 2026. Ask what work has been completed under the Novo name, and confirm licensing and insurance directly before signing. Massachusetts lists its home improvement contractor registration, 204600, as active, held by Novo Design & Build LLC, and Rhode Island lists its home improvement registration, GC-44437, as active.
I am very pleased with DFL cabinetry quality and the design process. Paulo sat down with my interior designers and me and assisted in detail selection and design. Our master bathroom is both beautiful and much more functional now! I will be using them again for a future kitchen renovation!
Working with Brian and the DFL team was an awesome experience! Brian was super patient and he totally got me! The process was so easy and I never felt stressed or rushed to make decisions. Our kitchen is gorgeous and our first floor is transformed. We will absolutely work with DFL on all projects going forward!
DFL was amazing to work with! This was our 2nd time working with them to help update a section of our home; our large mudroom and attached powder room. Our space had some challenging structures that were built into the design in order to 'hide' a wall bump out. That is now hidden behind the large 'pantry' by shelves and drawers. Every piece of the project went well, the design, delivery and installation. When an issue arose during the installation with one of the drawers, DFL had their carpenter come the next day to resolve the issue! Note, we used a separate builder for the installation of the cabinets. I absolutely LOVE my new space. We have had tons of compliments on the design, quality and use of space. I won't hesitate to recommend or use this team for future projects. Thank you DFL! See pictures!
The DFL team were an integral part of the successful renovation our three bathrooms. The primary bath posed some design challenges and Paolo was hugely helpful in configuring the best possible solution for us. Add in excellent project management and the expertise of Vin Gadoury Construction and you have a beautiful result! We could not be happier!
Beautiful cabinetry and wonderful service- highly recommend working with Paulo and his team! They did our kitchen cabinetry in 2021 and were a pleasure to work with throughout.
