A kitchen cabinet door came off its hinge days before Thanksgiving; Matt came out the same day the customer called and replaced the hinges the next. That November 2024 account is the sharpest thing anyone has written about Oceanside Cabinets, and it captures what the business is — a two-person Marblehead showroom where one man does the measuring, the designing and the follow-up. The company says it was founded in 1997 as a family-owned business serving the North Shore, selling custom cabinetry and countertops in granite, quartz, laminate and solid surface. Its BBB file lists Matthew Desmond as president and two employees, with the business started in 1997 and incorporated in 2003. Houzz lists it as an authorized StarMark Cabinetry dealer and puts typical job cost between $1,200 and $60,000. Every review, across every platform, names Matt. A homeowner writing in February 2020 described getting quotes from five places before choosing Oceanside, and singled out him measuring meticulously and returning calls immediately when a cabinet door arrived scratched and a piece was missing — including site visits and personal delivery to sort it out. Another February 2020 customer, referred to him for a kitchen renovation, described being walked through options against a budget. A 2023 Google reviewer credited both Matt and Joe. The caution is volume and age. Seven reviews in total, and five of them were written in 2020 or earlier — four of those inside three weeks of February 2020. Google averages 4.0 across 4 ratings while Houzz shows 5.0 across 5, which means at least one Google rater scored it below five without leaving a written account. Its BBB profile is A+ and accredited since 2013, with no complaints shown. One thing to square before you call: the website claims over 50 years of experience while BBB dates the business to 1997 — 29 years. Those are different claims, and the longer one likely describes a personal career rather than the company. This is a cabinetry and countertop supplier, not a general contractor. It sells, designs and installs cabinets, vanities, built-ins and counters; the demolition, plumbing and electrical on a kitchen or bath project are someone else's job. Hours are by appointment only. The right fit for a homeowner who has a builder lined up and wants a hands-on dealer to design and supply the cabinetry — ask what the quote covers on installation, and who owns the fix when a door arrives damaged.

Our kitchen cabinet door came off its original European hinge only days before Thanksgiving. Matt came to our house to see the situation the same day we called. He replaced the hinges the next day. He could not have been nicer or more efficient.

By far and away the best business in the north shore, they took care of everything I needed and plus some. Matt and Joe are killa at what they do. They're personable, reliable, humorous, and experienced. You already know they got you covered

I recently had my kitchen completely remodeled and I am thrilled with the outcome. After shopping around and getting quotes from five different places I selected Ocean City cabinets. Matt Desmond came out to my house ,measured meticulously and reviewed my design vision with me. His quote was well within the medium range of the limits that I had gotten from others. I selected Oceanside Cabinets because when I visited the showroom Matt went through the whole selection and ordering process with me nicely and patiently step by step in details. I was really impressed with his attentiveness when I or my contractor called him regarding questions we had with a cabinet door that was scratched or a missing piece that was needed Matt was almost immediate in returning phone calls and addressed all issues with kind customer service, a positive attitude, as well as on sight visits and personal delivery. It is for all the aforementioned reasons that I highly recommend Oceanside Cabinets to everyone I know.
