Door installations arranged through Home Depot dominate customers’ accounts of Odessa Builders LLC in Farmington. Those accounts include entry doors, storm doors and sliding glass doors, with sharply different experiences of the installation and follow-up. Google shows 2.8 stars from 29 ratings. A September 2026 reviewer alleged that Odessa damaged a $4,000 door during installation and then repeatedly failed to return calls or arrange a proper repair. The customer said promised callbacks and scheduling never materialized. A June 2025 reviewer described months of waiting, incorrect measurements and orders, a stained door and a storm door that would not lock properly; they said they were still waiting for repairs when they posted. Scheduling and cleanup have also drawn complaints. In August 2024, a customer said an incorrect measurement prevented the first installation, then nobody arrived or called during the replacement appointment window, costing them a second day off work. A December 2023 reviewer described two missed appointment times and late communication. In December 2025, another customer said an installer left despite being told the homeowner was ten minutes away, and then rejected their call. A March 2026 sliding-door customer said the installer asked them to take discarded materials to the dump because he was tired. Other customers describe completed work they were pleased with. In March 2026, a homeowner praised Patrick for repeated visits, including two disrupted by snow, and said the family loved the finished door. Two customers writing in February and March 2025 praised Oliver’s installations; the March customer identified two storm doors and an entry door, with Vladimir handling the measurements. The February customer attributed a two-month special-order wait to Home Depot. A September 2024 reviewer said an unnamed installer corrected loose molding, installed the door neatly and removed the old door, screen and packaging. A September 2023 customer described a rain cancellation followed by a Labor Day installation: Gabriel checked the order before arriving, called the homeowner over when unpacking the door and completed work the customer was pleased with. Odessa Builders LLC’s Connecticut home improvement contractor registration was active at the October 30, 2026 registry check.
Absolutely horrible experience with Odessa. They are hired by Home Depot to install doors, and honestly, I don’t even know how they are still doing business like this. They did a TERRIBLE installation on my door. The door cost $4,000 and they actually damaged it during the installation. Instead of coming back and fixing the problem properly from the foundation, they basically try to ignore you and avoid coming out to do the work they were paid to do. Their customer service is just as bad. Valery, the receptionist, will tell you that someone is going to call you back and that they’re going to schedule you, and then you never hear from anyone. You call again, and it’s the same thing. They say they’ll call you back, and they don’t. At this point it feels like they’re intentionally avoiding the problem and hoping you just give up. I’m beyond frustrated. You pay $4,000 for a door and professional installation, and you expect it to be installed correctly. If THEY damage it and install it incorrectly, they should take responsibility and fix it instead of ignoring the customer. I would NOT recommend Odessa to anyone. The installation was bad, the customer service is bad, and getting them to actually come back and fix their work has been a nightmare. Stay away. i would give 0/10 if i could
Excellent experience. Very professional, timely, and kind. Highly recommend Odessa!
We had a wonderful experience with someone from your team named Patrick. He came repeatedly to our house (twice impeded by snow), to install a door. There's a vulnerability to having someone inside your home, and he was a total pleasure to be around, thorough, courteous, and conscientious. Unfortunately, I was on a work call when he finished up the job. Please give him a huge thank you from my family and me. We love our new door!!
Just choose another company. Only one example of our bad experience is: the gentleman that put in our sliding glass door didn't want to take the discarded materials away because he was "tired" after installing all day. He asked us to "just take the stuff to the dump". Really?? Guess what - we are all tired but still do the jobs we are paid to do.
Very poor customer service. They gave ma a 4 hour window because they couldn’t tell me a precise time to come and replace a door. I was on my way to the house and the installer called that he had arrived. I told him I would be there in 10 minutes. I got home in 10 minutes and the installer was gone. Thinking that he may have gone to get some coffee, I waited 20 minutes and then called him. He rejected the call. I called the company and they claimed that he waited 10 minutes and then left, not true. As a customer I have to wait 4 hour but they can’t wait 10 minutes. Really poor customer service.
