Olde Window Restorers, of Warner, restores old wooden windows and builds wooden storm windows. Local news sites have described its window restoration work. A 2022 customer had all of the original wooden windows restored in a 100-year-old house, windows that had been impossible to open or held open with a stick. That 2022 customer said Alden and the team cleaned up well after each visit and were easy to reach with questions. A 2022 customer said the company crafted custom wooden storm windows for a 1790 home, replacing 30-year-old aluminum storms, and that a couple of crooked windows needed custom measuring a few times. That 2022 customer said Alden knows old windows and advised expecting long lead times. A 2025 reviewer said Dave built about 35 custom storm windows in 2016 from measurements the reviewer supplied and sent them to the reviewer's home in Madison, Wisconsin. A 2023 customer who had sashes repaired and new storms made said a bill for an additional $3,400 came when the work was completed, and that Dave said the quote did not cover the sash work. That 2023 customer called the quality good but said it could have been better, described the restored glass as hard to see through, and advised getting things spelled out up front.

“Olde Window Restorers of Warner, NH, removed two 20/20 windows at a time to restore in their shop, where they first carefully removed and preserved the window glass, some of it original.”
“Olde Window Restorers of Warner, New Hampshire, is performing the restoration in three stages. Six windows will be restored in each phase that’s projected to take six to eight weeks each to complete.”
In 2016, I worked with Dave to custom build me ~35 Western Style storm windows of various sized in a custom off-white color for our 1941 home in Madison, Wisconsin. I had the needed openings for the windows measured and the provided Dave's team the measurements. He built and sent them directly to my residence 1/3 of the way across the country. It was a large order and I was a bit hesitant with my deposit initially, but once the storms arrived and we had them installed, I was so happy with the decision. I'm not sure if Dave sends shipments of this size anymore, but if you're local to the New England area, I'd highly recommend engaging Dave and and his team. Like anything, ask a lot of question and be meticulous so you can communicate the desired end product. Highly rated!
A beautiful autumn morning. Unfortunately hard to see due to “frosted” glass as a result of restoration. Just had the sashes repaired and new storms made. The proposal was very misleading. When all the work was completed I was handed a bill for an additional $3,400. When I questioned why Dave said the quote didn’t cover the work done on the sashes???? He never said otherwise so I was lead to believe the quote covered the complete job. Shame on me for assuming, especially when things weren’t spelled out initially. The quality of the work done was good but could have been better. In my opinion, OWR takes on more with an they can handle. I’d suggest if you use OWR get things spelled out up front and check along the way. Otherwise you may end up paying more than you planned on. Very disappointed with the attitude Dave had and no mention to work out something for the misunderstanding.
We had Olde Window Restorers craft custom wooden storm windows (some sort of 50-year wood product) for our 1790 home to replace the nasty aluminum storms that were 30 years old. What a difference to the beauty of our house! We had a couple of super crooked windows that needed custom measuring a few times, but the results are gorgeous. And they do a better job of keeping our home warmer than the old ones. Couldn't be happier with the results. Alden knows ***everything*** about old windows. He is a font of info for historic home owners. Expect long lead times, but that's the norm these days.
I recently had all of the original wooden windows restored in my 100 year old house and I couldn’t be happier with the result. For years I’ve lived with windows that I either couldn’t open or needed to be held open with a stick or windows with broken glass and glaze crumbling out of them. Alden and the team were great to work with. Everybody was very professional, friendly and knowledgeable. They were sure to clean up very well after each visit and were very easy to get ahold of if I had any questions or concerns. I would definitely recommend Olde Window Restorers to anybody interested in preserving the original wood windows that were custom made for their house as opposed to replacing them with an inferior product. You will most likely have a little bit of a wait but the end results are definitely worth it.
