Olympic Roofing has been stripping and re-roofing North Shore houses for a long time — 24 permitted jobs going back to 2006, six of them in the last three years, typically around $23,000 and running as high as $102,000, concentrated in Beverly with work also in Marblehead, Methuen, Malden, Everett, Newburyport, Brookline and Wellesley. That permit trail is the most solid thing on file, and it is genuinely a working record. The licence picture is the reason to slow down. BuildZoom carries an alert on the company and states it could find no active licence on file: it reports a roofer licence, #119025, that expired on 05-13-1999 and which BuildZoom re-checked as still expired on 07-04-2026, alongside four Massachusetts home improvement contractor registrations — 119025, 116824, 138595 and 186786 — all shown inactive, each described as having at one point been cancelled. Those are the directory's records rather than a state registry confirmation, so verify them yourself; but four cancelled registrations and no active one is not a clerical detail on a job that needs permits. Recent customers are happy. In February 2026 a reviewer said Olympic outbid three other companies on their father's roof and they were lining up a sibling's house next. Two January 2026 reviewers described a repair that made a very old roof look new with every nail and splinter cleaned up, and an emergency storm repair to a skylight that they credited with preventing a flood. The older written record is deeper and more detailed, and it splits. In October 2016 a customer on a $9,000 job described a foreman who worked to understand their objectives, a written estimate with supporting documents, insurance certificates produced on request, and a large crew that beat the weather in a single day. Another that month, on a $5,500 roof, reported no ice-damming or leaking afterward and thorough clean-up with the gardens protected. Against that sits an April 2013 one-star account of a $13,500 siding job: the customer alleged permits were never pulled, that HardiePlank fiber-cement siding was installed incorrectly and that the manufacturer's own representative confirmed it, that they had won a small-claims judgment nine months earlier that went unpaid, and that the company denied its own existence to avoid service of process. It is thirteen years old, and it is one account — but it is specific, it names the owner, and it lines up uncomfortably with the licensing record. Sources also disagree on basics: the company's site says it started in 1962 and names George Vasiliades as CEO, while BuildZoom's blurb and Angi's '68 years of experience' both imply a 1958 founding and BuildZoom names Evangelos Liapis as owner. If you call them, get the pulled permit and the current HIC registration number in writing before any deposit, in the exact name on your contract, and confirm both directly with the state.

$455 — It went excellent - they should up exactly when they said they would and completed in the same manner. There was no evidence that anyone had performed any work on my property.

$5,500 — The work was well-prepared and well-executed. The workers were on time and professional. The quality of the finished roof was excellent---there has been no problem with the roof or any ice-damming or leaking. Our gardens and shrubbery were protected from harm, and the clean-up after the job was thorough.

- behind the score: No active licence verified — BuildZoom scores them zero for that reason
What does a roof replacement cost in Greater Boston?
Typical Greater Boston range for this kind of work, from regional averages — not a quote from Olympic Roofing. Use it to sanity-check bids, then get the real number in writing.
A square is 100 sq ft of roof surface — bigger than the floor plan because of pitch and overhangs.
Estimated range
$9,000 – $18,600
Typical roofing project around $13,800
