Orange Oil Co is a New Salem fuel delivery and heating company. A recent customer said they helped with an oil boiler repair when other companies were not answering their phones at all or were trying to sell a new boiler. A recent customer said they just had a furnace cleaning, that the two workers were thorough and nice, and that the furnace had never run better. A 2025 customer said they had been among the company's clientele for 35 years and called the people who run it neighbors and friends. A 2026 Nextdoor post from Northfield said Orange oil company got theirs working properly. A 2019 legacy.com page says that after he obtained his license to be a burner technician, Orange Oil was able to offer service and installations as well as delivery. On its website, the company says it started as a gas station in 1947 and now serves New Salem and over 20 surrounding towns as a fuel delivery and HVAC company. A recent 1-star reviewer said the company repeatedly estimated about $2,500 for repairs, then sent an invoice for close to $6,000 after the work was done without warning that it would be more work than expected. That reviewer also said the workers stepped through the ceiling and claimed they had been told it was okay to step on it, and that a unit which had been working before its electrical lines were replaced then needed a new board the company had not addressed. A 2026 customer said they were told on a Tuesday that their oil delivery was set for Thursday, the oil did not come Thursday, and they were then told it was authorized for Friday, so they spent 85 dollars on 20 gallons of diesel to heat the house.

UDPATED: WOW heck of a response. They repeatedly estimated $2,500~ for repairs. AFTER the work was done, they sent an invoice for close to $6,000 never having informed the homeowner that it was going to be more work than originally expected. They stepped through the ceiling and claim the homeowner told the technicians "it was okay to step on the ceiling?" Are you kidding me???? Pictures attached showing how they left the ceiling. They claim the units are "working properly" yet they have failed to address the unit that suddenly needs a new board. That unit had been functioning just fine until they determined it needed new electrical lines. Funny how the replacement of the electrical lines caused the board to malfunction. Must be a coincidence. NOT a company to be trusted for repairs of any kind. An estimate ended up being triple the charges when repairs were made, with NO warning that it would far exceed what was quoted. Extremely difficult to deal with and blatantly lie about circumstances.
We just had a furnace cleaning. The two guys were the best. Our furnace has never run better. They were thorough and incredibly nice. Would definitely recommend them.
Not very happy with the company. I had called on Tuesday and the older woman on the phone said I was all set for my delivery on Thursday. It is now Thursday and I’ve yet to get my oil only to be told that I was authorized today for tomorrow (Friday) knowing well the person on the phone said I would get my oil TODAY(Thursday). Now i have to spend more money to heat my house because of the lack of being honest with their customer and lying about when they are going there delivery. It is 85 dollars for 20 gallons of diesel 85 that I don’t have to spend because I relied on a company to put that money towards to. This is not customer service at all this feel’s more of just saying yes and not keeping your word severely disgusted with this…
This is a company you can trust. "Family run" gets said a lot, but this is a family, and more - they're my neighbors, they're my friends, and they will always do the right thing. You won't have a better partner in keeping you warm and keeping you cool than this family delivers, for the 35 years we have been among their clientele. They're the best in the business.
