We’ve now lived in our new home for a year, and every day we’re grateful for the work of Noah Modie, Architect, and Oxbow Design Build. From the start, we dreamed of a single level, Finnish Lake House–inspired home on our pond that would also be ADA-compliant so we could age in place without significant modifications if we needed it. Noah absolutely nailed it. He kept every detail in mind, including our goal of making the house highly energy efficient and net zero, which has truly paid off. We just received a preliminary HERS and Energy Star efficiency report from our independent energy use consultant; our house is beyond “net zero,” it’s rating is -3! The design makes brilliant use of space—our 1,500-square-foot home feels open and roomy, with incredible storage tucked thoughtfully throughout. We continue to notice small design details that make daily living easier and more enjoyable. The kitchen cabinets by Oxbow Design Build are outstanding. Noah’s design gave us more storage than we imagined possible, and Oxbow’s craftsmanship delivered a kitchen that’s both beautiful and highly functional. Together, Noah and Oxbow created a home that is sustainable, accessible, and perfectly suited to its setting on the pond. After a year of living here, we can confidently say this home is everything we hoped for—and more. We can’t recommend them highly enough!

We have had Oxbow work on many projects for us over the years. They are excellent in so many ways, attention to detail, creativity, and communication, to name a few. They are always professional, and lovely to be around! We highly recommend.

This project finished right before winter 2020. Kitchen renno and integrate/winterize 3 season porch off of kitchen. Found Carl very communicative, honest, responsive, commitment to sustainability, and "went to the mat" with 3rd party suppliers to get things right. Excellent craftsmanship, excellent sub contractors (ex. electric, HVAC, etc) . Cannot tell the difference between custom made items (cabinets, shelving) and those ordered from 3rd party. Had an in-house designer to help us with our vision and our quirky circa1900 house.

We used Oxbow for both architectural design and fabrication on a large commercial project. In a world of fluctuating timelines and estimates, Oxbow followed through on both and we were incredibly happy with the final product.
