Paul W. Gerzon runs a one-man handyman and carpentry shop out of Arlington, the kind you call for the jobs a big contractor won't bother with: a door that won't close, shelves for a linen closet, a screen door that needs swapping, flat-pack furniture still in the box. He also markets himself as "Handyman Paul G.," and by his own account has been at it since 2001, working the Arlington–Cambridge–Lexington corridor and the wider Greater Boston area. Carpentry is the through-line. Across Google and neighborhood sites, the work people bring him is repair and small-build: doors and storm doors, fascia, cabinets, custom shelving. Reviewers describe him as efficient, communicative, and fairly priced, and several say they'd hire him again. The catch is how little of this there is to go on — a 4.3 average rests on just six Google ratings, and nothing new has surfaced in the past six months. He works solo for most jobs and, he says, brings in an on-call partner he describes as a licensed contractor for bigger projects like bathrooms and additions. That licensing is his own claim, not something checked against a state registry, so if your job runs into plumbing or electrical beyond the basics, confirm who is actually licensed to do it before work starts. Several of his directory profiles are also unclaimed or bare, which is why the picture stays thin. For small carpentry and around-the-house repairs in the Arlington area, he's a plausible fit — just go in knowing the track record is genuine but shallow, and get the scope and pricing in writing.

Paul did a really nice job repairing (basically rebuilding) a very visible and highly deteriorated area on the garage in the front of my house. New shingles and fascia. Its looks excellent. Paul also performed some odd jobs and completed them on time and very well. I recommend him highly.

Paul did a great job modifying my cabinets to make space for a dishwasher and swapped out an old screen door. I would not hesitate to recommend him! Thanks Paul!

Paul did an excellent job with several tasks, including installing a new doorbell, a cat door, a set of coat hooks, some bathroom upgrades, and a few others. He was speedy and efficient and charged a very reasonable rate. Highly recommend!

Paul was great! We hired him to fix a few doors and build some shelves for a linen closet. Paul was super efficient, very communicative, and the results are great. His pricing was quite reasonable and was very friendly and transparent

Move on. This guy gives handymen a bad name. Communicates and then disappears, ghosts you, comes back, gone again, simply abuses clients in need, will waste your time, then not follow through. I used Thumbtack, talked with 2 folks, got someone else. Just move one
