Pillar Wood Floors & Remodeling is a hardwood floor business with a 5-star Google average from 85 ratings and an A+ grade from the Better Business Bureau. The company says it has been in business 10 years and lists a service area of East Lyme, Avon, Hartford, New Haven and Simsbury. One recent customer hired Alfredo to install hardwoods and baseboards in four bedrooms that had 26-year-old carpeting. A customer who had bamboo floors refinished said Alfredo kept them updated each day on when his crew would arrive and when they had finished. A customer who had hardwood installed in two bedrooms received a detailed estimate and said the job was completed in four days. A 2026 reviewer said the company repaired ice dam water damage and refinished oak floors in a kitchen, removing a section of warped boards and matching the new section to the older floor. A 2026 customer with a 100-year-old home said Alfredo offered two choices, an oil base or a clear poly, and they went with the clear. A 2025 reviewer said Alfredo Pillar sanded and refinished first-floor red oak floors with three coats of Bona finish. A 2024 customer said Alfredo replaced boards stained by pet accidents in a mid-60s home and refinished the floors. A 2023 customer said black streaks appeared in the kitchen after polyurethane was applied, which the customer put down to contamination on the raw wood from the manufacturer; Alfredo came back and refinished the kitchen two times to correct it. A 2022 customer said the first stain color did not come out as dark as expected, and the floors were re-done with a dark gray stain. Connecticut lists its home improvement contractor registration, HIC.0666368, as active, held by Pillar Wood Floors LLC.
Alfredo and his crew were great. They met all our expectations for a sanded and refinished floor and were very careful when moving furniture
We recently had our bamboo floors refinished for the first time, and they look and feel brand new! From start to finish, Alfredo and his crew were absolutely wonderful to work with. Alfredo was easy to communicate with and kept me updated each day on when his crew would arrive and when they had finished. The house was prepped and cleaned meticulously, and the entire process was handled with such care and professionalism. We couldn’t be happier with the results! I would highly recommend Pillar Wood Floors and Remodeling to anyone looking to have their floors refinished. Five stars all around!
I hired Pillar Floors to install hard wood floors in two bedrooms.. I received a detailed estimate. The prices were both reasonable and competitive. The crew was amazing. They worked very hard to complete the job in just four days. The result is that I have beautiful wood floors in my rooms that I could not be happier with. Alfredo was always available to answer any questions or concerns that I had.. I would recommend Pillar Floors to both family, friends and anyone else looking to install hard wood floors..
Alfredo & his crew are TOP NOTCH!! We hired Alfredo to install hardwoods & baseboards in 4 bedrooms that had 26 yr old carpeting. After a terrible outcome with KHF hired through a contractor for our 2024 renovation I was VERY reluctant to trust someone again. Alfredo successfully matched the new hardwoods perfectly to the previous job’s stain and they are GORGEOUS! Alfredo discovered dampness in the subfloor due to a bathroom leak & paused the job until it could dry out (not desirable to him as has to juggle his schedule/crew) but it was the right call to make. From communicating daily arrival/departure/job status updates, to handling our furniture with great care, to clean up, to not asking for final payment until he knew I was happy with the job (something our previous contractor should take note of), to fixing minor wall damage from plastic sheeting hanging (& hired a painting professional to do so!) I am happy to recommend Pillar Wood Floors. We plan to hire them again to repair the botched first floor job from KHF & we have high-end appliances they’ll have to work around but Alfredo has earned my trust to do so.
Working with Pillar Wood Floors was positive from day one! My hardwood floors were just installed and they are beautiful. Alfredo was knowledgeable, professional, friendly and patient. His crew did beautiful work in a timely fashion. I would not hesitant to work with them again!
