Pioneer Valley Waste Solutions runs curbside trash and recycling pickup and drops off dumpsters. Its website lists service towns including Easthampton, Palmer, Northampton, Longmeadow, Ludlow, Monson, Montgomery and North Adams. A recent Google customer says the company has never missed a pickup. A recent customer thanks an employee who grabbed their recycling can on a morning they had forgotten to put it out. In a 2025 review, a customer said they called at 8pm, got a call back before 8:15am the next morning and had a dumpster delivered by 11:30am. A 2025 customer wrote that one truck came early for waste and a separate one for recycling shortly after. In 2026, a customer wrote that the company had just dropped off new, large cans. A recent customer who canceled after about a year says trash and recycling were repeatedly dumped and scattered at the end of the driveway, cans were knocked over or left blocking the entrance, and the monthly bill rose from $75 to almost $130. That customer says the cancellation call ended with the staff member hanging up, and a message left for management was not returned. A local paper has described one of its drivers picking up garbage around Easthampton.
“Sam Allis, a driver for Pioneer Valley Waste Solutions, picks up garbage around Easthampton on Tuesday morning. He had over 300 stops to make that day.”
““This last year, Pioneer Valley Waste Solutions provided trash barrels and trash removal so we could keep the racecourse clean and trash-free. That saved us significant money,” he said.”
Absolutely the best trash company in the area! They have the best prices, have never missed a pickup, and their customer service is always friendly and helpful. Reliable, affordable, and easy to deal with - highly recommend!
I just wanted to say THANK YOU SO MUCH to the employee who grabbed my recycling can for me this morning (I totally forgot it was recycle week and didn't put it out with my trash). TOP TIER Customer Service and just some validation that there are some great humans in this world. Wonderful company and outstanding service.
After about a year as a customer, I've decided to cancel my service with Pioneer Valley due to repeated issues along with a substantial rate increase which has became too much to tolerate or justify. In the year being with them, I've had to call customer service more times than I ever did with my previous trash company (Burdette's), which I used for years. I dealt with trash and recycling being dumped and scattered all over the end of my driveway. The trash cans were regularly knocked over or left blocking my driveway entrance. This wasn't just an inconvenience—it created unnecessary obstacles for a property where handicapped residents live. Then came the price increase. My monthly bill jumped from $75 to almost $130. I simply couldn't justify paying that much for service that consistently left me cleaning up littered trash and recycling after every pickup. I pay for 2 trash carts collected weekly and 2 recycling carts collected every other week. I expect my driveway to be left clean and accessible, not looking like a landfill. If I wanted a gate across my driveway, I would install one—not have it created with overturned trash cans. When I first called about the rate increase, Melissa was pleasant enough. I explained that I was going to shop around for other options, and she told me they still had the best pricing in town and that I was welcome to look elsewhere. So I did exactly that. I found that WM Waste Management offered significantly better value for my needs. For about $80 per month, I now receive weekly pickup for both trash and recycling with two carts of each. I also learned they utilize gas from their landfill operations to help fuel portions of their fleet, which I appreciate as an environmentally conscious effort. If I ever need an additional recycling cart, it's only another $5 per month, and it would still be collected every week. Better service, more frequent recycling, and a much lower monthly cost. When I called to cancel, I spoke with Melissa again. As soon as I explained that I had found a better option, her tone changed immediately. She repeatedly interrupted me, talked over me, and would not let me finish asking my questions. My sister was sitting directly next to me and the shock on her face said it all. Neither of us could believe how rude the person was on the other end of the line (Melissa). She said that although they would refund the charge for the current billing cycle, I would still be responsible for paying through the end of the month. She also told me there is no dedicated truck that picks up canceled customers' containers, so the carts would be collected whenever a truck happened to be in the area. In the meantime, I would be expected to keep their containers indefinitely until it was convenient for them to retrieve them. Before I had the chance to ask the rest of my questions, she ended the conversation by hanging up on me. I later called and left a message for management because I felt the situation was handled very unprofessionally. Unfortunately, no one has had the courtesy to return my call. That interaction was the final confirmation that I had made the right decision. Price increases due to inflation are one thing, but professionalism and respect for customers should never disappear even if someone chooses to take business elsewhere. It's disappointing because the service used to be much better and I genuinely miss working with Delena who left the office. Somewhere along the way, the quality of both the trash service and customer service changed dramatically. I don't enjoy writing negative reviews, but I also believe people deserve honest feedback when they're deciding where to spend their money. My experience has been one of declining service, a substantial price increase, poor communication, and an unfortunate lack of professionalism when I chose to take my business elsewhere. I truly hope Pioneer Valley takes this feedback seriously because retaining customers isn't just about having competitive prices—it's about providing dependable service and treating people with respect.
Wonderful local trash service for small hampden area!! I am beyond grateful I was paying double the price for unreliable services. They just dropped off our new cans today and they are BIG you cannot beat this price. I am beyond satisfied already lol
Exceptional service, I unexpectedly had helpers arriving the next day, so I called and left a message at 8pm. Pioneer Valley returned my call before 8:15am the next morning and had a dumpster here by 11:30am. Amazing, and drivers were super helpful.
