"It looks like a brand new tub was installed" is the kind of line customers have written about Porcelain Patch & Glaze Co, a Meriden tub and tile refinisher whose customers name Rich as the one doing the work. It carries 4.9 stars across 132 ratings on both HomeAdvisor and Angi, and 3.9 across 7 on Google. The newest account is from May 2026: Rich and Dallas repaired spots that had peeled from another contractor's glazing done 13 to 15 years earlier, matched the color closely and cleaned up thoroughly. In a November 2024 review, a homeowner had tile and a tub refinished and loved the new tile color. The older written history runs from 2016 to 2018, when customers described a 1936 bathtub resurfaced at a reasonable price, two bathrooms done in one day, a dull beige fiberglass tub unit turned a sleek white for a first-time homebuyer, a tub rescued from a DIY mess before Thanksgiving with the price given in advance, and a ventilation setup that pushed overspray out a window, though one 2018 customer noted a paint smell for a day or so. The complaints are about durability. In a March 2023 review, a customer said a steel 1980s tub refinished in January 2019 began bubbling within a couple of years and had kept cracking and peeling through 2023, calling the $700 job a waste of money. A February 2018 customer was happy with a reglazed tub but saw small peeling at the edges where the tub meets the tile after seven months, and fixed it with silicone. Its BBB grade is an A+. The Connecticut home improvement contractor registration HIC.0700003 is active, held by A Better Porcelain Patch & Glaze Co, the name customers also use for the business.
Rich and Dallas did a fabulous job repairing spots that had peeled from a previous contractors glazing that was done about 13 to 15 years ago. They matched the color almost perfectly considering the previous job was over 15 years old. It looks amazing! They were professional and thoroughly cleaned up everything before they left. They were very responsive upon inquiring and showed up on time and did an excellent job. I would definitely recommend them.
Rich did an amazing job. I had my tile and my tub refinished. Heâ s very professional. He was very respectful of my home when carrying in his equipment and cleaning up after himself when he was done. I love the color of my new tile and the tub looks amazing. I highly recommend him to anybody who wants their bathroom to look new, but doesnâ t wanna rip it

The gentleman that runs this company takes tremendous pride in his work, and if anybody has any complaints, I am positive. He would address and correct the issue. The gentleman complaining about paint bubbles from 2019 should’ve mentioned it in 2019 instead of posting a negative review If you didn’t follow the provided Care instructions, it may have been the fault of the home owner. If it was brought to the attention of the business owner, the negative review guy would’ve had five years of problem free bathing in his tub 🤦♂️
