Premier Fence is the rare fence company whose news coverage is financial rather than neighbourly. In September 2025 the private equity firm Harkness Capital Partners took an investment stake, and on March 6, 2026 the company acquired SecurityWorks, LLC, an East Bridgewater perimeter-security firm — the kind of move a fencing outfit makes when it is buying its way into gates and access control. The operation behind that is real and old. A 2014 Boston Globe story covered MassDevelopment bonds funding a Canton facility with factory, office and showroom space; in January 2026 MassDevelopment issued a further $4 million tax-exempt and $7.7 million taxable bond for a related holding company. Its Houzz page puts it at 1010 Turnpike Street in Canton with ten project galleries and a service list covering wood, vinyl, chain link, aluminium and wrought iron fence and gate work across roughly 45 towns south and west of Boston. Much of the work is not residential at all: it bid $510,050 as apparent low bidder on Framingham's parks and recreation fencing contract, and its own announcements describe commercial, municipal and guardrail work alongside homes. Two things to raise before booking. FastDOL, which aggregates federal enforcement records, lists two OSHA violations against the company across one inspection with $23,170 in assessed penalties — worth asking about directly, since fence crews work with power equipment on your property. And Houzz shows a self-listed BBB A+ rating, which is the company's own claim on a directory page rather than anything checked here. Everything written about this company is corporate: bond issues, an investment, an acquisition, a municipal bid. For a big yard, a long run of commercial-grade fence, or an automatic driveway gate, that scale is the point. For a small residential job, ask who actually shows up, get the schedule in writing, and ask for two recent homeowner references nearby.
Typical Greater Boston range for this kind of work, from regional averages — not a quote from Premier Fence LLC. Use it to sanity-check bids, then get the real number in writing.
Walk the line and pace it off — a pace is about 3 feet.
