Prestige Flooring

Old hardwood brought back is the job people hire Prestige Flooring for. The Johnston, Rhode Island company holds 4.9 stars from 49 ratings on both Angi and HomeAdvisor, and most written reviews describe refinishing and new hardwood installs, often naming Matt. The specifics run back several years. In a May 2024 review, a homeowner described Matt restoring 100-year-old wood floors while Freddie installed new thresholds. A July 2023 customer had maple flooring refinished inside the house along with the wood deck on an enclosed patio, and a 2022 Houzz review describes a new oak floor in four rooms plus a refinished flight of stairs and back deck. Communication comes up again and again: a February 2025 customer, who hired the company through their general contractor during a renovation, said Matt kept them informed about when he was coming and going. Price is mentioned often too. In a May 2025 review, a customer who had been let down by another company said Matt came out immediately with a fair price, started the next day and finished under budget. A November 2025 Thumbtack reviewer said the price was the best of three quotes and the crew left the room clean. There is one sharp complaint. In a March 2023 BuildZoom review, a customer described nails showing after an install, damage to baseboards, the ceiling and most walls, and splintered wood left in a gap at the new floor's edge. Matt came back, pulled out a board, said he lacked a replacement and committed to return the next week; the customer wrote that he then went three-plus weeks without responding, after sharing $250 of the painting repair cost. The company's Rhode Island home improvement contractor licence, GC-43616, is expired on the state registry.
