Two names surface again and again in Protech Electrical Services' reviews — Rey and Malvin — and almost always on the same kind of job: a ceiling fan swapped out, an outlet replaced, lighting run through a room. This is a family-owned electrical shop on Sanger Street in Northeast Philadelphia, doing residential and commercial installs, repairs, and 24/7 emergency work. The company says it has been at it for about 15 years and covers Philadelphia plus Delaware, Chester, Montgomery, and Bucks counties. The history behind that is deep and steady: 245 reviews since 2021 across five sources. Google sits at 5.0 from 360 ratings; on Thumbtack they carry Top Pro status at 4.9 from 327 reviews, hired more than 400 times. Recent jobs track the same rhythm — a dead ceiling fan pulled and replaced in about an hour, multiple outlets and switches installed in a single afternoon, a sump-pump outlet added while another outlet that wasn't up to code got fixed and explained step by step. One customer in March noted the technician showed up on time, didn't try to up-sell, and charged exactly what was quoted. Speed and a light touch on the sell are the through-line here — people keep describing quick visits, clear explanations, and prices that matched the estimate. What's worth pinning down before booking is the license. Thumbtack lists a verified Pennsylvania Home Improvement Contractor Registration and a passed background check, and the company describes its technicians as trained at Pennco Tech; a Home Improvement Contractor registration, though, is not the same as an electrical license, so ask which credential covers your specific job. For everyday residential electrical work around Northeast Philadelphia — fans, fixtures, outlets, and code fixes — Protech is a well-reviewed, established choice with a long positive history. Confirm the exact license for your job and get the scope and price in writing before the work starts.

I had a simple job requiring the removal of a non-working ceiling fan and installation of a new one. Rey came out and completed the job in about an hour. I was extremely pleased with his professionalism and efficient work. Highly recommended!

Super happy with the electrical work ProTech recently completed on our home. We had multiple outlets and switches installed- all done in just a few hours. This is our second time working with them and always quality work, on time, and great, professional service. Our go to company!

I called Protech to install an outlet for a newly installed sump pump and to replace another outlet that was not up to code. They came out quickly and assessed what I needed.<br><br>Ray explained everything to me and was very articulate about everything that needed to be done. After listening and discussing everything, I decided to have my panel replaced too. It was ancient and always tripping. I just could not keep up with all the newer electronics being used.<br><br>I cannot say enough good things about the work he did. I feel much safer in my home and it's one less thing to worry about.<br><br>If you need to call an electrician, I highly recommend Protech.

The technician arrived on time, did the work in the time that he had predicted. There was no attempt to up-sell the job, amount paid was exactly as estimated. I would not hesitate to use their services for future electric work, and I will recommend them to my friends and neighbors.
