R & S Landscaping's reviews split sharply by era. Reviews from 2022 through 2024 call the crew trustworthy, hard-working and client-oriented; reviews from the past year and a half describe a messier, more disorganized experience — repeated property complaints, unanswered calls, and, in one case, reckless driving by a company vehicle. The Medford company has been around a long time — its Better Business Bureau profile lists 37 years in operation with a file opened in 2000 — and its Houzz profile lists design and installation, tree services, seasonal services, landscape maintenance and asphalt work. In a 2023 review, a customer called the experience excellent and said they'd recommend the company to friends; in a 2024 review, another described the crew as trustworthy and hard-working, doing everything that was asked of them; and one 2024 review simply said, "these guys are awesome." The recent reviews are pointed. In an October 2025 review, a customer described a recurring pattern — "every week it's the same thing" — of little regard for property, with calls to the office going unreturned; an April 2025 review called the crew discourteous, messy and sloppy; and a February 2025 review described a company driver driving recklessly near a job site. A January 2026 review described a heated confrontation with someone connected to the company, including a threat and a call to the police. There's also a 2011 government finding worth knowing about: Violation Tracker, a project of Good Jobs First, lists an $85,025 penalty against the company that year for a wage-and-hour violation under the Fair Labor Standards Act — a resolved, dated finding rather than a current one. On the other side, the company holds an active Massachusetts Supplier Diversity Office Women Business Enterprise certification, verified through 2028. Given how recent the negative accounts are, anyone considering R & S Landscaping now should ask about current crew supervision and get clear expectations in writing — the praise from a few years ago doesn't obviously describe what customers have reported since.
