In July 2022, a customer whose father's yard Crowleys Clippers had maintained for years wrote that the crew tore out, with no warning, a lilac bush their late mother had loved and that the family had tended together. They left one star. A second one-star review landed three months later, from another long-standing customer — this one for turning the irrigation system on and off each year. The annual questionnaire the company normally mails never arrived in 2022, and they had to ring up to ask when the crew was coming. The most recent word is a better one. In June 2025 a customer had their turf refreshed and the yard cleaned up, said the turf looked brand new, and named Conner as knowledgeable, pleasant and easy to deal with. Crowleys Clippers works out of Medford on lawn and turf work, yard cleanups and seasonal irrigation service. Its Google rating is 3.4 across five ratings, and only three of those carry any writing. For turf and routine yard maintenance in Medford, the 2025 account is a good one. Both complaints are about what happened between visits rather than the work itself — something removed without notice, and a season that started without the usual check-in — so put in writing what will and will not be cut or pulled on your property, and settle who calls whom to open the season.
We’re very happy with the work they did this month refreshing our turf & cleaning up our yard . The turf looks brand new & Conner was very knowledgeable & pleasant & easy to deal with
We have been using this company for years to turn on and turn off our irrigation system. They usually send a questionnaire in the mail every year to ask what we would like to have done, but this year we didn’t receive anything! Much to my chagrin, I called today to ask when they could do the work and was told that the owner put the machine away for the year! After being told that there were many people who claimed that they didn’t receive their questionnaires this year, I asked why we didn’t even get a phone call? We were told that she would have made about 50 phone calls and that could not happen! If you wanted to keep your customers, wouldn’t you have made those phone calls? We are now scrambling to find someone else; when we do, we will never deal with this unprofessional company ever again! Their motto should be: Nobody here cares!
For years they’ve been doing my fathers yard, and it’s always been “fine”, but I’m so enraged at what they’ve done I can’t sit on this. My mother passed away not long ago and she loved her lilac bush. We’d take care of it together and smell the flowers. Without warning they TORE THEM ALL OUT. Just destroyed my mothers lilacs. They never asked. So these huge bushes are gone, and they didn’t even apologize. They didn’t offer to plant new ones. Not a word. They should be ashamed. My father is elderly and struggles with advocating for himself sometimes and he can’t even bring himself to get new ones put in. I’m appalled.
