R & S Tree Service is a tree company that says on its website it has been in business for 16 years. A testimonial on its site describes a call after a tree fell on a house: they got there quickly and cut up the tree, leaving it for firewood. The Better Business Bureau grades it A+, and on Google it holds 4.1 stars from 7 ratings. A 2025 customer said Rob and his crew showed up bright and early and took on complex tree work in challenging terrain. That customer chose R&S after speaking with several tree companies. A recent Google customer who met with Rob twice says the price was good and the work he did was done well, but the job was not fully completed as promised. That customer says Rob promised three times to come back and finish, never showed up, and ignored calls, texts and voicemail. A recent Google reviewer says a wood chipper ran at 7am on a Saturday, before the 8:30am weekend quiet hours in East Haven's municipal code.
Met with rob twice was nice, and had a good price for the work i needed done. He did the work and did a great job. It was my ignorance being s first time home buyer and paying for job that wasn’t fully completed as promised. Rob promised to complete the job three times and said yeah I’ll be there never showed up. Called and was ignoring calls text and VM. Finally got in touch with him snd he said yeah I’ll be there and because I wasn’t home i sent him Pictures of the work that he missed and promised to get. Never showed up. That just unprofessional i rather would have been told no i cant do that, i also offered to pay more if needed. In the future i cant trust this company and my only advise as a man in business is if you say your going to do something be honest and do it. Good luck
Should brush up on local noise ordinance. Running a wood chipper at the 7am on a Saturday when the quiet hours don’t end until 8:30am on weekends Edit: per East Haven municipal code Sec 12-52 (b) “ (b) Prohibited Hours: The hours before 7:00 a.m. on a Monday through Friday, before 8:30 a.m. on a Saturday or Sunday, or after 9:00 p.m. on any day.”
Excellent company & team. Rob & his experienced crew showed up bright and early and tackled complex tree work in a challenging terrain like true professionals. After speaking with several tree companies, I chose to go with R&S due to their professionalism and passion for tree care. Strongly recommend them as the way to go in the CT Shoreline area.
