Ransom Chimney Services LLC is a chimney business that says it offers inspections, cleanings, repairs and installations. Its Connecticut home improvement contractor registration, HIC.0699883, is active on the state registry under the holder name RANSOM CHIMNEY SERVICES. A recent customer said John did a complete tear down and rebuild of their chimney with a new liner, at what they called very fair pricing. A recent customer wrote that they stayed late to get the job done and made suggestions on improvements for the chimney and pellet stoves. A 2025 customer described a chimney liner and double-flue cap job in which John pointed out that the chimney had no corbel on top; that customer said he installed the liner, corbeled the upper 2 layers of bricks and installed a new crown and cap. A 2025 customer said John called the same day and completed major repairs, including a stainless steel liner, in rain and cold. A 2025 customer said John cleaned their chimney, fireplace and wood stove. A recent customer gave one star, writing that whoever was supposed to come for a chimney inspection on October 2 did not show up, and that on the day of the review he said he could not make it.
Stayed late to get the job done. Very professional, very helpful with suggestions on improvements for my chimney and pellet stoves.
Punctual, polite, and very conscientious. He provides guidance and makes suggestions without making us feel like he's trying to sell us things we don't need. A very friendly man, who clearly takes pride in doing quality work. He has gained our trust and will have him back. -Winsted
If I could give this business zero I would. As a busy mom, I have a child in need of therapy services and I do not have time to chase after someone for an inspection to get done on my chimney. Let’s see… the owner or whoever that was supposed to show up on October 2 at 4:30 through 5:30 decided to not show up as the email stated between my husband and him they set up for that date. Now we’re on today where he decides to tell us he can’t make it today. This is absolutely unprofessional. I came to you because you had great reviews. What a disappointment.
Ransom Chimney Services came out to take a look at our chimney and I was impressed. Really knowledgeable, took the time to answer my questions, and gave me solid ideas for what we could do with it. No pressure, no upselling, just straight information. Would recommend giving them a call.
Ransom Chimney Services did an absolutely fabulous job with my chimney. John did a complete tear down and rebuild with a new liner. Very fair pricing, and top notch expertise. Highly recommended! A+++
