Fifteen minutes. That is how long it took Ray Daly to call back a Boston landlord who, in a March 2017 review, had rental-unit outlets red-flagged by the city's inspectional services for non-grounding after several other electricians couldn't fit him in — with a quote and a Monday appointment twenty minutes after that. Speed is the through-line. Accounts stretching from December 2012 to March 2026 keep returning to the same thing: he turns up, quotes fast, and the schedule holds. A March 2026 customer having an EV charger installed described Ray coming by the same day to look at the location and sending a reasonable estimate the next; the install happened the following week. In December 2023 a homeowner's service upgrade was scheduled and finished quickly, with the team keeping them posted throughout. The company works out of Arlington and, by its own account on HomeAdvisor, has been doing residential and commercial electrical work for 31 years, is EPA Certified, and belongs to the International Association of Electrical Inspectors and the NFPA. That profile describes owner Ray Daly as a master electrician, and lists trade licence 20300 — but that number is self-reported to the directory rather than confirmed against the state board, so ask to see it. Two kinds of job dominate. EV chargers recur through the recent years. And the bigger rewires: a May 2019 customer had a three-family house in Cambridge rewired on a flexible schedule built around tenants, and an October 2019 reviewer called theirs a very complicated rewiring project. The caution comes from an April 2017 four-star review that found the job very expensive and slow, though that customer still finished satisfied and called them very nice people. It is the sharpest criticism in the written accounts here, and it argues for pinning down a firm written estimate and a timeline before a large job. Weigh the volume too: the written trail has thinned to roughly a review a year lately, so there is less current evidence than the fourteen-year span suggests. Right call for an EV charger, a service upgrade, or a full rewire on an older multifamily where the work has to fit around tenants. Confirm the licence number yourself, and get the estimate in writing.
“Ray is a very knowledgeable hands on owner/operator who consistently delivers projects on time and in budget.”
From the initial contact via Angi to the finished installation, this was a very pleasant experience. Ray came by on the same day to check out the specific location and circumstances, and sent the very reasonable estimate the next day. We arranged for installation the following week, and the members of his team did an excellent job. We now have an EV charger that works very well. Highly recommended!
Very quick response. Fair price and quick installation.
