Red Star North Electric is a Portland electrician, and in the reviews it is Chris. The newest one, from October 2025 on Google, came from a customer living in Alaska whose mother's generator was shorting out in a rainstorm in Harpswell; the company drove the 50 minutes from Portland in the torrential rain and fixed it. Angi and HomeAdvisor each show 5.0 stars from 27 ratings, BBB grades the company A+, and its own profile describes residential and commercial work including full installations, wiring and panel upgrades. The written reviews behind those ratings date from 2019 and 2020. In a September 2020 Angi review, a homeowner said Chris looked over a swimming pool electrical installation, gave a timely estimate, applied for the permit, finished the work within hours and came in below the estimate. A November 2020 reviewer described a chandelier and dimmer installed in the dining room, and a 2019 review covers an EV charging station install. A July 2020 customer said Chris was the only electrician who called back and that his pricing was very reasonable; a September 2019 reviewer said he called asking to come a day early and then arrived at the exact time he stated.
I was In a panic. It was the middle of a rain storm and my mother’s generator was shorting out. I lived in Alaska and she was in Harpswell, Maine. I couldn’t reach anyone and somehow landed on this man’s company all the way in Portland, ME. He drove the 50 minutes to her house in the torrential rain storm weather to show up and fix the issue for her. He was so kind, courteous and courageous. Thank you so much for all you do and for keeping my family safe. Give your self a raise! I 10/10 recommend hiring this wonderful human.
