Reed & Reed is a general contractor that says it was founded as a bridge building firm in 1928 by Captain Josiah W. Reed and his son Carlton Day Reed, and that four generations of the family have led it since. The company describes itself as one of northern New England's largest general contractors. A 2025 Reddit commenter described it as a heavy contractor based in Woolwich whose jobs are all over the state, and said it is an employee owned business. A 2024 Reddit commenter wrote that it was over in Brunswick working on its next project. A 2024 Google reviewer wrote of crossing the Topsham and Woolwich bridge projects at least twice a day and thanked the company for the American flags flying from its jobsite crane cables. A recent Google reviewer called the company honest and hard-working people. A 2024 Google reviewer wrote that one of its employees left construction debris on a bridge the company was repairing, damaging the reviewer's vehicle, and that the company refused to assist with repairs.

Because they are a large company with government contracts they will happily screw over the general population. One of their employees negligently left construction debris on a bridge they are repairing, damaging my vehicle. The company refuses to do the right thing and assist with repairs.

I love seeing the American flags flying from their jobsite crane cables! I cross the Topsham and Woolwich bridge projects at least twice a day and I feel patriotic pride every time. Thank you and please keep them flying!
