Regan Heating and Air Conditioning carries 4.4 stars from 211 Google ratings. The company says on its website that it has handled heating and cooling installation and service for RI and nearby MA for over 50 years, and it lists service towns including Fall River, New Bedford and Attleboro. Local news sites wpri.com and turnto10.com have quoted people from the company. A customer who scheduled routine maintenance as new homeowners said Eric used his diagnostics to determine where their leak was coming from. A customer said the team was nice but did not clean up well, leaving ceiling tiles out of place and dirty handprints on their new mini split. A customer said a heat pump / mini split system Regan installed in their home four years earlier stopped working because of a leak, traced to a corroded ferrel in the tubing to one of the units. That customer listed $520 for refrigerant, $185 for dye, $277 to find the leak and $1,400 to fix it, said a 99-cent clamp at the original installation could have saved them a $2,382 expense, and wrote that Regan takes no responsibility for the original configuration. Regan holds an A+ grade from the Better Business Bureau and is listed there as accredited. In 2025, a Reddit commenter in r/RhodeIsland wrote that they had called Regan but had not heard back yet.
“I've used Regan heating and air in the past. They're fantastic.”
“I’ve called Regan but haven’t heard back yet.”
“For those who have air conditioning, Regan Heating and Air Conditioning’s Matt Regan said setting your air conditioner below 70 degrees doesn’t cool your house down faster, and can actually do more harm than good.”
“draws too much amps, (and) trips the breaker,” Mike Zincone of Regan Heating and Air Conditioning said.”
The team was nice but they didn't clean up after themselves very good. They left ceiling tiles out of place & dirty handprints on my new mini split.
Four years ago Regan installed a heat pump/mini split system in my home. This year it stopped working. Seems there was a leak. $520 to add refrigerant. $185 to add dye to track the leak. $277 to identify where the leak was occurring. Turns out a ferrel within the tube that connects to one of the units, a little round ball with holes in it, was corroded and was causing the leak. $1,400 to fix the leak and refill the refrigerant. Why did that little round ball get corroded? Possibly by vibration caused by how the tubing was originally connected. Instead of clean right angles around the right side of the window, they installed it with multiple angles on the left side of the window to match the roof line (see photo). During the $1,400 repair the tech added a clamp to protect against future vibrations. A 99 cent clamp at the original installation could have saved me a $2,382 expense. Regan takes no responsibility for the less-than-optimal original configuration.
ERIC saved the day for us. As new homeowners, we scheduled a routine maintenance and with his diagnostics, he was able to determine where the leak we had was coming from. Highly recommend this reputable company for great customer care and work!
