Close to 3,800 people have rated the Boston arm of Renewal by Andersen on Google, and the average sits at 4.8 — a level of consistency few home-improvement outfits sustain at that volume. Working out of 30 Forbes Rd in Northborough, the company does one thing: taking old windows and doors out of Massachusetts houses and putting custom-built replacements in. Read the last few months of reviews and the same crew names keep surfacing — Greg, Kilda, Ernie, Andre, Dylan — always attached to the same kind of detail. One July customer watched Ernie's crew lay tarps and walkway covers, hang plastic curtains in the work areas and cover the furniture before a single window came out. Another described an installation that was genuinely difficult, handled without damage to existing walls, roofing or siding. A homeowner with planting beds against the foundation noticed the installers tiptoeing through the garden rather than trampling it, and a pair of installers who fitted a heavy sliding glass door left it square, level and sealed, then showed the owners how to adjust the rollers seasonally. The reviews run from 2021 through this summer across five sources, and the Better Business Bureau lists the company as accredited since 2004 with an A+ grade. What drags is the logistics, not the labor. The most detailed recent complaint comes from a customer who was told the job would take one visit of about two days and instead got four visits over five days spread across nearly three months, including a single window turning up on its own when the whole order was expected — and that reviewer was explicit that the install crews themselves were the good part. A second recent two-star account describes a new front door that would swing open and slam unless it was fully latched, taking three different technicians and roughly three months to improve, with the final answer being that nothing more could be done short of a full reinstall. One reviewer's whole complaint is the volume of junk mail and spam. On Reddit this spring, a commenter in r/massachusetts told homeowners not to use Renewal by Andersen or Newpro under any circumstances, without describing a specific job. If you want a manufacturer-backed replacement window or patio door and a crew that treats your floors and shrubs carefully, this is a safe call. Before signing, pin down in writing how many visits the job is expected to take, what happens if part of the order arrives separately, and who handles service calls after installation.

We are very happy with Greg and his team who showed up at our home on time and did a fantastic job installing multiple windows and doors. They did an amazing job at setting up a safe working environment and cleaned up after each day of work. Thank you!

RBA was great from the moment I called. Carl, a very knowledgeable consultant came by and after deciding on the product and financing with him I was contacted and arranged an install date. . Great communication leading up to install day. On install day Andre and his crew showed up early and got straight to work. They went above and beyond every step of the way even on the simpler things like protecting the carpets and covering items near the work area with a light plastic for protection. His team was a well oiled machine as they removed the old windows and installed the new ones followed by new exterior trim and sealing everything in. Andre addressed any questions, was easy to work with and professional. Start to finish a great experience. I hardly ever leave a review on anything but in this case I had to tell people about this so use Renewal by Anderson and hopefully you’ll get Andre’s crew too and get to see for yourself…
