Rick's Main Roofing has two very different sets of customers in 2026. On one side, a long run of 2026 Google reviews describes a Norwalk roofer that tells people what they do not need: in August 2026, Pete inspected one roof, said it did not need replacing yet and charged nothing for advice on the gutters, and another customer said he declined to upsell services while replacing skylights. The company claims 52 years in business and serves lower Fairfield County, from Bridgeport and Danbury to Greenwich and Norwalk; a thehour.com item pictures Rick Tavella at the business. The positive accounts are detailed. A July 2026 customer had the roof on a 5,000-square-foot Norwalk house with a complicated roofline replaced with no surprises on price; another matched cedar shingles on two outbuildings to a colonial-era house. An October 2026 reviewer coordinated a roof and gutter replacement on a parent's house from out of state. In a May 2024 review, a crew of nine replaced a roof and skylights in two days, bent copper around the chimneys, and Rick came on site three times. Ice-dam calls show up too — a crew arriving within an hour on a cold February 2026 day. The complaints are serious and recent. In September 2026, a Google reviewer said a roof costing over $30,000 needed numerous corrections — copper valleys replaced, trim redone, bent gutters, nails left on the driveway — then leaked the following winter, causing over $5,000 in interior damage, and the company said it was not responsible. Another customer, posting twice on Google that month, said a roof costing about $38,000 to $40,000 had sections ripped out and redone, was installed partly over the gutters, leaked within about a year, and that the company refused to go on the roof and said there was no warranty. That customer also said the roof failed in its second winter and flooded the house. Earlier, a November 2023 customer said chimney flashing work did not stop the leak it was sold to fix, and the company quoted more work without looking in the attic. Two of these reviewers also said they could not communicate with the crew. It holds 4.7 stars from 112 Google ratings and a BBB grade of A with one complaint on file. Rick's Main Roofing Ltd holds an active Connecticut home improvement contractor registration, HIC.0580430.
“Rick Tavella at Rick's Main Roofing Thursday, July 9, 2020, in Norwalk, Conn. Rick's Main Roofing was one of many city businesses to receive a PPP loan from the Small Business Administration.”
Highly recommend Rick’s Main Roofing. Great crew - great results- Thanks guys!
Rick's did a great job replacing the roof and gutters on my parents' home, and made it easy for me to coordinate the work from out of state. Pete was extremely responsive, both during the sale and after the work was completed. The office staff is also very friendly and helpful, and their estimate was detailed and competitive. Highly recommended!
Ricks Main Roofing Installed an entire new roof on my house. The pricing was more that fair and the crew worked from 8:30 till 7 in the evening to get the work fininshed. The clean up and care of my property and plants was amazing. The workmenship was obviously done with care and persision. I have recommened Rick's to anyone that I come across.
Pete and Neil seem like truly good guys who know a ton about the roofing and gutter business. They were very friendly and did a great job beginning to end, I lucked out finding them. Highly recommend.
Rick’s uses mostly 3rd party, non English speaking workers. Their work on of roof was substandard, and required numerous corrections to fix faulty work. Copper valleys had to be replaced, trim was installed improperly, gutters were bent, hundreds of roofing nails were left all over our driveway, Also, last winter, after having spend over $30,000 to replace our roof, we had leaks that caused over $5,000 in interior damage. They have failed to repair the problem and promised to have a GAF representative come to look at the roof. That never happened. After numerous unfulfilled promises by their saleman, they sent a worker to tell us they are not responsible for the repairs or damage caused by their shoddy work. Take my advice. Avoid this company like the plague.
