Right Construction and Handyman Services

I hired Mark from Right Construction Handlyman LLC to do carpentry and GC work for my new bathroom. I used my own electrician and plumber and Painter. He was hired for carpentry, however, he talked me into having him do the tiling vs. my tile guy, because "he is great at tile work and enjoys it". I went against my better judgment (in hindsight), in using my tile guy but figuring he was doing the general contract (GC) work he would do a decent job and I saw two good reviews on line for tile work. Mark completely did not know what he was doing for bathroom tile, within ten days of using the new tiled shower, it leaked and destroyed my three year old bathroom downstairs. He used Mastic instead of the Schluter method (which I know now, due to this horrible experience). The tile was pulled up and still wet, he did not seal the floor basin so the water literally leaked into the ceiling downstairs within days, he tried to blame the plumber. I also found grout in the pipe and learned from other people on the job he did not cover the drain when grouting (we were away when this job was completed). Also the tile on the the bathroom floor, within two weeks after returning home that grout was breaking, and had to have that re grouted. Additionally the other subcontractors told me information about things he messed up, and had videos and shared them with me of things he did incorrectly, (threshold for shower put in backwards, they told him to fix and he did not, he broke through my ceiling downstairs and never told me and had my painter fix it, he of course told me, he mis-measured the height of the doorknob for the door, and had to re-oder new door. I was even willing to let these small incompetencies go, but the waterfall from the new shower to my downstairs just unacceptable. THE WORST part, his insurance would only cover the damage to the downstairs bathroom (for less than 3k), however, not for his incompetence. The insurance stated he should re do the work at his own cost, but WHY would I have him re-do the job when he had no clue what he was doing with regard to sealing the shower floor and tiles, otherwise I would have another mess. this cost me an extra 16k to fix and only received 2266 from his insurance. I WOULD NEVER USE THIS person again. I have done over 10 renovations and re-builds in various states, and never experienced this level of incompetency. He also took 5 months to finish the job, when we had agreed to 45 days, fortunately we were away so honestly I did not push him as I wanted it done correctly. The other subcontractors said they would never work with him again. Needless to say I will never let a GC talk me into not using my own guys/gals again for the sake of "one stop shopping". I own that, but the worst experience ever in over 15 years of renovations and re-builds.

The bathroom was gutted and transformed! Tile is excellent and beautiful! Tiled shower and tile work is gorgeous!
