Riley Electrical's website says it provides generator sales, installation and service across Connecticut and Western Massachusetts, from residential standby systems to large commercial solutions. Its Connecticut electrician licence, ELC.0121935-E1, is active on the state registry under the name RILEY ELECTRICAL. A recent Google customer had a whole-house natural gas standby generator installed and praised the job. A 2026 customer said Riley Electric replaced their whole-house generator with a new natural gas model on time and on budget. That 2026 customer also wrote that Dan came out on a Saturday in freezing cold weather to do the final setup because a big storm was due the next day. A 2026 reviewer wrote that Mike serviced their generator, cleaned it and made sure it was running properly. A 2026 customer said a technician performed the first annual maintenance of their unit, an oil and filter change covered by the original purchase. The work goes beyond generators. A 2026 customer who found water coming out of their panel said Riley came out immediately and came back the next day with a new panel, arranging the inspector to be there. In a 2024 review, a customer wrote that Dan Riley showed them their propane delivery system was not big enough, showed the math, and put load management into the plan. A 2024 customer wrote that the company installed a whole house generator and a new electric meter for them, and that Dan the dad and Dan the son are the owners. A recent customer was happy with the installation but said they never got the free first-year service call written into the original contract, and that a request to connect the unit to wifi was never followed up. A 2024 customer said the work fell behind schedule and that updates were lacking while they were out of the country. A 2024 reviewer wrote that a project was delayed well beyond the schedule and communication was poor.
Whole house natural gas standby generator installation. They did an excellent job.
Purchased a Briggs & Stratton 20K unit. Very happy with the installation, performance and the total price of the install. But, never got the 1st year service call for free as written in the original contract. I ended up going with CT Home Generators for my annual service. I also requested that they look into connecting my unit to wifi. They never follow up on my request. Disappointed with their service after the install.
Mike from Riley Electrical was very professional, friendly and extremely informative. He serviced our generator, clean it, made sure it is running properly, and gave us detailed information and instructions about its use. I would highly recommend Riley Electrical to anyone looking for an electrical generator or a service contact for one. Ask for Mike when you call.
Since Riley Electrical has been servicing our standby generator, we have been extremely satisfied!
Riley Electric replaced my whole house generator with a new natural gas model. Everything was done on time and on budget. All the work was excellent. Dan and his team go above and beyond. He came out on a Saturday in freezing cold weather to do the final setup because we were getting a big storm the next day. I would highly recommend Riley Electric if you’re looking for a generator.
