Robert Home & Yard Improvement — registered as Robert's Home & Yard Improvement, Inc. — is a Hyannis carpentry and general-contracting outfit run by Carlos Pereira with a small crew. Its Massachusetts Home Improvement Contractor registration, number 210915, is verified as active in the state registry, and BBB additionally records a Construction Supervisor licence, CSFA-106793, expiring in 2029. The work is broad but leans on exteriors and carpentry: decks and porches rebuilt or re-stained, fences, siding and trim, power washing, painting inside and out, plus kitchens, bathrooms and the occasional piece of furniture restoration. In a 2024 review a homeowner described the crew renovating an exterior with new trim and shingles and swapping a sliding door for a double window, adding that the "Final cost was true to the estimate"; another in 2025 described crumbling brick steps replaced with composite steps and railings. A 2024 customer wrote about Carlos fitting grab bars and a temporary comfort-height toilet to help a husband with dementia and Parkinson's, then swapping in the special-order fixture when it arrived. Across Google, HomeAdvisor and Thumbtack the record runs to 67 reviews since 2022, 4.9 on Google and 4.8 on HomeAdvisor. Responsiveness is the recurring theme — fast quotes, crews arriving when promised, jobs finished on schedule and on budget. Two complaints deserve weight. In April 2026 a bathroom-remodel customer reported repeated poor communication, a no-show and delays, a shower-door crew arriving without a level or tape measure, and water left running outside that hit wiring and knocked out power to part of the house; the company replied acknowledging delays and coordination issues. A September 2025 Google reviewer called the service terrible and the company shady without describing a job. A 2023 reviewer also wanted the deck cleaned more thoroughly before painting. So: strong, deep and mostly recent praise for exterior carpentry and quick turnarounds, with communication on bigger multi-trade remodels the thing to pin down. Get the schedule, the site-protection arrangements and the crew's daily sign-off in writing before a bathroom or whole-house project starts.
Poor communication by Carlos several times with myself and his crew, resulting in no show and delays. Crew showed up without a level and tape measure for a shower door install. Water left running outside, hit wiring and knocked out power to part of the house, discovered after they had left on a Saturday. Gil the tile mason, Lou and Brune the plumbing crew did great work. I would not however hire Carlos (Roberts Home and Yard Improvement) again for the 2 other larger projects planned in the next few months.
The most dedicated company to work with. It made the process simple, and easy to understand as being a female.
Excellent work. Crew was timely, professional and kept the work area clean
Highly recommend Carlos and his team for top quality, reasonably priced work on a variety of home improvement projects. A very personable and conscientious crew who genuinely care about the finished product.
Carlos and his team were great and did a wonderful job. I needed various projects done and all were accomplished extremely well
