When a customer's regular cleaning person cancelled on a Friday ahead of a large family gathering that Sunday, she contacted Joyce at Robins Nest Cleaning, and Annette came to the house the following morning. That customer decided to hire the company permanently. Robins Nest Cleaning is a house cleaning company whose website lists a service area of Connecticut towns including Oxford, Naugatuck, Seymour, Shelton and Milford. Short-notice work is a big part of its story: a customer who needed a last-minute move-in clean was booked for the next day. A customer who hired them to deep clean a house about to go on the market got a cleaner two days after asking, and when the assigned cleaner had car trouble, Joyce had Yolanda come out the same day. The deep cleans get into the corners. One customer said they cleaned small spots like baseboards and window sills. Shannon cleaned the inside of a customer's microwave and left a small "nest" on top of the toilet paper roll. A customer who mentioned one or two small misses by text got an apology and had them addressed the following week, and the company leaves a checklist of every item and room on the counter at the end of the visit. A first deep clean went less well for one household: they found a broom and mop moved to the garage and candles pushed to the top of the fridge, with dust left on a dining room chandelier, the top of a light switch and a kitchen tile ledge. That customer said they would probably not use the company again.
