Roman Electric Heating and Cooling

I do not recommend Michael Roman based on my experience. Last summer, I contacted him to diagnose and replace the AC in one of my rental units. He responded quickly and spent several hours diagnosing the problem, charging me $675. Afterward, he told me the AC was beyond repair and needed to be replaced. When he returned to install the new unit, he installed a different brand than the one he had originally promised and charged me $850. He also persuaded me to install an AC with a heat pump, even though I did not need that feature. Since I was not available at the property at the time, I felt I had little choice. To make matters worse, he left without testing the new AC. Later, my tenant informed me that it was not working. I had to contact him again, and he installed a temporary AC unit that had a very strong, unpleasant smell. It took a third visit before he finally installed a standard AC that worked properly. Quick, friendly, expert service to fix to our central A/C.

Mike was fantasric. He came at night to assess our central AC which wasn't working (we moved to the house in winter so we never used it ). I was getting a hip replacement the next day and needed the house to be cool. Mike knew what to do and got the system working. He did not want to leave me in a humid hot house during my recovery. Great guy. Highly recommended. He also does electrical work and more.. thanks, Mike!

Mike Roman showed up right on time on July 16, 2025 to find out why my air conditioning was not blowing enough cold air on the second floor of my house. He found the air handler to be clogged with dust and started to clean the air handler. He spent two hours on the job and reported that he needed to come back for another day's work to make some significant modifications to improve the efficiency of my air conditioning system. For the two hours of work on July 16, 2025, he presented me with a bill for $450; that was for labor only. In other words, he was charging me a rate of $225 per hour. The following day, I left him a message that I wanted him to itemize the work he proposed to do when he was to return on July 30th because I might want to scale back the work in the interest of reducing the cost. Anyway, he never presented me with an estimate. Furthermore, he was a no-show for his scheduled appointment on July 30, 2025. In my opinion, Mike Roman is unreliable and crazy expensive.

Mike helped out with my air handler and AC unit. Had a 5 star experience! I appreciate his deep knowledge of HVAC and professionalism.
