Three rooms of original antique pine, refinished in April 2024: that homeowner wrote the crew was clean, careful, quick and easy to schedule, and called the results picture perfect. Old wood is what this Hudson company gets hired for. Its site describes more than 40 years of refinishing and installing hardwood in southern New Hampshire, a family business Ron Wilson works with his sons and a team of craftsmen, covering Nashua, Londonderry and Manchester. The older accounts are where the craft detail sits. A September 2010 customer had the stain on a stairway matched to the floor and said the dust from finishing was minimal to none; a June 2010 reviewer credited dustless equipment for leaving no mess. In September 2009, a homeowner had floors refinished and sections patched where walls had been taken out, and another that autumn had roughly 900 square feet done alongside two rebuilt stairways, in phases, over several return visits. A July 2010 customer had an unknown stain lifted from boards that had spent years under carpet. The newer writing is thinner but holds on the work itself: an August 2024 repeat customer named Phil and Alex as the crew and called them meticulous, and a January 2024 reviewer singled out the pricing. The front end is where to push. The newest written account, from December 2025, is a one-star: the homeowner said Ron came out a week early to look at the floors, shook hands and promised an estimate in a couple of days, and a month on had heard nothing. Earlier customers raised similar things. A May 2011 reviewer said the floor came out nice but the crew left each day without saying when they would be back; a September 2011 customer said stains that could not be sanded out, and a board that needed replacing, were never raised with them. In September 2021, a customer wrote that he was told his semi-gloss finish had been discontinued and that his handyman told him otherwise. For refinishing old wood — antique pine, century-old boards, a stairway that has to match — the hands-on accounts here run long and specific. Get the estimate in writing with a date attached before you commit, and ask up front what you will be told, and when, if a board or a stain turns out to be beyond saving once the sanding starts.
