Extreme Make Over Custom Home Repair Handyman Services

Nearly every review of this Pelham outfit names the same person. John Leahy comes out for the estimate, then comes back with the tools — and one customer, writing in March 2025, said he had hired John for 15 years across two homes, for everything from small repairs to one large renovation. The range is the point. In a June 2026 review, a homeowner described a full kitchen, bath and new LVP floor from Extreme MakeOver, with the debris taken away at the end of every day. In January 2026, another wrote that John came out on a Sunday to look at a shower remodel and started right away. In April 2025, someone hired him just to hang a stove hood and spent the whole review on how carefully he got it right. The estimate is what customers bring up most. A November 2024 reviewer described being walked through exactly what needed doing and which materials would be used before the quote came back for a 16-foot slider, a room renovation and the finish work around it. A March 2025 customer put it more bluntly: you understand what you need, you do not pay a dime more, and it is done on time. Another, in July 2025, called the estimates clear and accurate and said the worksite stayed clean. Carpentry threads through most of the specific jobs. Interior doors and two reframed doorways turned a room into an office in April 2025; a breezeway rebuild and a wood cathedral ceiling came in on time and on budget in January 2025; a July 2025 customer singled out the knowledge of millwork materials. Water damage comes up more than once too — hardwood floors repaired in October 2025, a living-room wall in April 2025. The Better Business Bureau lists the company for handyman work, deck building, bathroom design, and window and door installation. Two things to sort out before calling. One Angi customer in June 2018 gave a single star and said the work was not that of a pro; it stands alone against a long line of five-star Angi accounts from the same two years, and those Angi accounts stop in 2019, with the writing since then on Google. Google itself carries two listings for the business, one averaging 5 stars over 31 ratings and a second averaging 4 over 7, so check which one you are reading. For a punch list that mixes a door, a floor, and a bathroom that needs gutting, this is the shape of outfit that takes all three, with the same person quoting the work and then doing it. Ask for the written, materials-level estimate reviewers keep describing, and pin the start and finish dates down before the first day.
