BuildZoom counts 59 permitted projects and displays 20 of them, every one commercial or institutional — a $1,504,043 medical office fit-out in Topsfield in 2024, a $979,171 Lahey Health primary care build-out and a $629,727 Sports Medicine North fit-out in Beverly in 2017, an $811,571 office floor at 77-81 Milk St in Boston in 2024, a $617,000 hospital renovation in Newburyport in 2023, a $188,000 Beth Israel job in Beverly in 2021. The typical permit runs about $676,964, and BuildZoom's own read of the last four years says he mostly works on commercial renovation projects. Even the one Marblehead entry, a September 2022 job replacing steel beam lintels and windows at 21 Tioga Way, is filed as a commercial building permit rather than a residential one. No customer has written anything. BuildZoom states it has received no reviews at all, so the BZ Score of 98 and the 84th-percentile ranking on that page come from permits and licences, not from anyone who hired him. The licensing on the page argues with itself: Massachusetts construction supervisor licence #CS-011132 appears as a Verified License, Active as of May 2026, and the same number appears again in the same list as inactive and at one point cancelled. Two home improvement contractor registrations, #115619 and #150799, are both listed inactive and at one point cancelled — and the home improvement registration is the one that governs nonstructural residential work. None of it was checked against the state registry here. BuildZoom's page also carries a paragraph describing home renovation for private homeowners since 1985. That is the directory's own generated blurb, and the commercial permit list on the same page contradicts it. For house work, ask him directly for residential references and confirm both licence numbers with the state before going further.
