Rose Landscape & Design turns up on three platforms telling the same story: fences and stonework, done quickly. A homeowner writing on Angi in November 2025 called about a chain-link fence, got a free estimate the next day, and had it signed, ordered and standing inside a week. The Abington company describes itself as primarily a landscaping and fencing business that also does hardscape design — walkways, steps, patios, fire pits, pool coping, retaining walls — and says it covers Abington and Marshfield on the South Shore. Thumbtack puts it at three employees and three years in business, which lines up with a written history that begins in early 2024. The hardscape reviews are the specific ones. In a March 2024 HomeAdvisor review, a customer described a vinyl fence plus front pavers and granite stairs finished on the planned timeline with no mess left behind, and said Jose warranties the work. A 2024 Angi customer had five yards of bark mulch spread — neat, no spillover, still holding after heavy rains. In March 2025 a Thumbtack customer hired the crew to clear backyard brush and said they stayed inside the agreed budget. The name that recurs across all three sites is Jose. Thumbtack's background check, though, is in the name of Katherine Griffiths; a July 2025 customer there thanked "Katherine and team", and a 2024 Thumbtack reviewer described it as a women-owned business. The company's own site does not say who owns it. One review runs the other way, and it is the detailed one. In May 2025 an Angi customer wrote that a fall cleanup ruined her flowers, that she asked for hemlock mulch and got black, and that after the company offered to replant for free it dumped the black mulch in her back yard and sent a $1,000 bill. That is the lone 1-star among the 11 ratings behind the 4.6 average on Angi and HomeAdvisor; Thumbtack's separate five reviews all sit at five stars. Worth settling before you call: Thumbtack currently marks the company unavailable for fence and gate installation, so ask whether fencing is on the books this season. Angi and HomeAdvisor both list "Se habla espanol", and the "Landscape Professionals" line on those profiles is the directories' own listing rather than a verified credential. Nothing newer than November 2025 has been written about them on any of the three sites. The right call for a South Shore fence or hardscape job where speed matters — a walkway, granite steps, a patio, a run of vinyl or chain link. For a seasonal cleanup or planting work, get the mulch type, the plant list and the price in writing first.
