Rot Doctors, a division of Polli Construction in South Burlington, takes on the structural side of old houses. In a January 2025 Google review, a customer who hired the company after a friend recommended it described it repairing the foundation at the front of the home, adding drainage, reinforcing the wooden structure of the old house, replacing the vinyl siding and adding a front porch. Workers inadvertently cut water and power lines on that job; the customer wrote that the company was very reachable and promptly fixed the problems. In a February 1, 2024 Google review, a customer named the carpenters, David, Bo and Rob, and described working with a construction advocate, David DuPrat, and an estimator, Mark Bickelman. In a late-February 2024 review, a customer wrote that issues with an old shed changed the job and the company did an about-face on the work needed, even working through the winter; that reviewer knew the final price would be more than some people would charge. In an October 2024 r/vermont thread, one commenter wrote that Rot Doctors' price of $125/hr plus 50% markup on materials seemed excessive. Another commenter in that thread wrote that Polli/Expert Painters quoted $54K to repair rotted fascia, hang new gutters and paint the exterior of a 3-BR house, and ended up doing it themselves. The company says it has 30 years in business and offers free estimates, and its website lists wood rot repair, wood siding and trim, soffit and fascia boards, and deck and porch work among its services. It holds 4.4 stars from 8 Google ratings.

“Have people had good experiences with Rot Doctors/Polli?”
I employed Rot Doctors, a division of Polley, after a friend recommended them. They repaired the foundation at the front of my home, added appropriate drainage, reinforced the wooden structure of this old house, replaced the vinyl siding, and added a very lovely front porch. The workers were polite, consistent, and ever ready to discuss the day's project with me. When workers inadvertently cut water and power lines, the company was very reachable and promptly fixed the problems. I am very happy with the results and do not hesitate to recommend this company to others.
Excellent service, easy to work with. I had more issues with my old shed, which changed job but they were great about doing an about face of work being needed. Even worked in this winter, which we have had milder weather. Every project that I needed done was completed in a timely manner. I knew that the final price would be more than some people would charge but was worth the quality and timely finish of each project.
Very satisfied with Polli Rot Docs work that was done. The team of David, Bo, and Rob were excellent carpenters, and very reliable. Advice regarding future work was greatly appreciated. The Polli system of working with a construction advocate, David DuPrat, and estimator, Mark Bickelman was efficient; communication and follow up were excellent.
