S & S Overhead Door Company

S & S Overhead Door Company is a family-run garage door outfit in Waltham, run day-to-day by Justin, who both diagnoses jobs and does the repair work himself. Its whole business is garage doors — repairs, spring and opener replacements, new door installs — and the reviews describe a shop that has stuck to that one trade and gotten very good at it. The consistency is the story here: every review in the record, going back to 2021, is five stars, and 34 of them landed in just the past six months with none negative. The specifics repeat across years — Justin calling back within the hour, showing up the same day, diagnosing a broken spring or a failed opener on the spot, and sticking to the price he quoted. One customer called on a snowstorm day and got a repair anyway; another, in a 2023 review, described calling a dozen other companies that wouldn't chase down a discontinued part before S&S found it. BBB grades the company A+, and Google shows a 5★ average from 108 ratings. There isn't much of a caution flag in the record — reviewers consistently describe fair, upfront pricing rather than upsells, including one who got a wildly inflated quote elsewhere before S&S fixed the actual, smaller problem. The one thing to note is that this is a small, single-technician operation, so scheduling around one person's availability is part of working with them. For a garage door repair or replacement in the Waltham area, the reviews are about as clean a record as they come — worth calling first.
