A recent customer said Shannon and S.P Landscaping completed multiple projects on their property, including tree removal and the relocation of shoreline granite steps. A recent reviewer listed brush hogging, fallen tree limb removal, general yard cleanup, mowing, a mown path through an overgrown field and a stone path walkway, and said Shannon provided updates and pictures throughout the work. The company's website lists concrete prep work, driveway resurfacing, excavation, hardscaping, lawn care, snow removal and sanding, and tree removal, with a service area that includes Bar Harbor, Blue Hill, Bucksport, Castine and Deer Isle. It says it has been in business for 20 years. In a 2025 review, a customer said Shannon and his crew arrived in February '25 and cut down eight extremely tall poplar trees inside a fenced backyard. A 2025 customer said a rock-lined drainage trench was installed to redirect water from a gravel driveway that puddled every spring, and that the area now drains properly. A 2025 reviewer said Shannon graveled their lengthy driveway and removed two very large pine trees close to the house. A 2024 reviewer from the Coach Stop Inn said Shannon did gravel work on the business's driveway and walkway. In a 2023 review, a customer said Shannon took down dead trees, ground stumps, seeded the areas where the stumps were and did their plowing. A recent customer gave one star after a loam order: they said they paid $300 a load for three loads they were told came in a 5-yard truck, later heard the truck holds 3 yards, and filed a BBB complaint seeking a $360 refund.
Do not use this guy he is a crook. I ordered three loads of loam from him at $300 a load therefore paying him $900, all in what I was told by him in a 5 yard truck. Now I have gone back to him to order more, and he tells me that the truck is only a 3 yard truck. Therefore, he short changed me 2 yards per load. I asked him to rectify since he owes me 6 yards of loam. His website specifically states that the loam is $60 a yard and at 3 yards he should have been charging me $180 a load with his “free delivery.” Shannon is extremely rude and a liar, I have now submitted a complaint with the BBB for a $360 refund or my 6 yards of loam that he short changed me on. I will also seek reimbursement via small claims court

I couldn't be happier with the outcome and would confidently recommend Shannon and SP Landscaping to anyone looking for top-notch landscaping and property improvement services.
Responded promptly to website inquiry and very responsive to all subsequent communications. Uses email, text, and calls well, interchangeably, and without any confusion. Shannon asked good questions and thought through the project in a way that was helpful to me. Professional fee quotes, timely and clear billing practices, and stayed on track with quotes. Provided updates and pictures throughout the work performed. Brush hogging, fallen tree limb removal, general yard cleanup, mowing, created mown path in overgrown field and a stone path walkway. Highly, highly recommend S.P. Landscaping!
S.P Landscaping is excellent and extremely responsive. I had a great experience working with Shannon, he was very tentative to my requests and offered great feedback on what was going to work and what wasn’t and is very honest in his work. I highly recommend Shannon and S.P Landscaping to anyone!
I couldn't be more impressed with the extensive work that Shannon has undertaken on my wooded property. I needed to have eight extremely tall poplar trees cut down in my backyard, all of which were at an end stage of growth. I feared that any day they would collapse onto my house in a significant wind and/or rain storm. The trees were within my fenced in backyard, which presented a challenge accessing the area with his tractor and other equipment. Shannon and his crew arrived in February ’25 in frigid temperatures and proceeded to strategize entry and felling of these massive trees. In short order the trees were knocked down and removed, a remarkable process I watched from the warmth of my home. I highly recommend Shannon’s services and in fact plan on having him back for several more projects. He is quick to respond to queries and is reasonably priced.
